  1. Any updates? My 2015 EB Edge has been doing this for some time. Took it in sevttimes and no codes. But its noticeable even using the same chevron for over a month. Tried shell, chevron, 76, Texaco all no change. Even showed ford a video of the tach bouncing around at idle. They said its maybe because I filled the tank to much? But even at half 1/4 almost empty same issue.

Maybe needs new spark plugs? Or vacuum leak?

I will say there is no loss in power and still gets reasonable mileage.

  2. Here's a tail light bar for sale:

    http://orlando.craigslist.org/pts/5451274051.html

Note that's it's not mine and I cannot vouch for the seller.

I sent a note. Not sure of the part number on this one

the LED light bar Part numbers are:

    Rear LED tail light FT4B-13B433-AJ

    Rear tail lights FT4B-13405 AL

You also need to replace the tail lights to get the entire effect.

  3. That doesn't make sense that the computer would need to be flashed to make "light" work. If I had known it was an actual thing I wouldn't have got mine and got the titanium. Seems like a low move even for ford. I didn't know there was a light bar till I saw an edge with it 5 days after I bought mine so returning it wouldn't happen.

  4. Interesting that the shop manual only mentions that it's the rear door handles that the SE doesn't have. All of the antennas and switches are in the door handle, so if you really do have the intelligent access door handle, then it could be possible to simply activate it by reconfiguring the BCM and maybe the DDM. But just because the wiring goes to the door handle doesn't mean the handle itself has the internal antenna and switches. Does the handle have the little hash marks on top towards the back? If so, then there might be a chance, if not, then it won't have the switches so you'll be out of luck.

Yes the from door handles have the hash marks and a lock just like the other models. The rear doors do not.

  6. I think the problem is the Gen2 is still so new no one is getting anything built. I didn't see anything at SEMA but Wasn't 'looking for Ford stuff while I was there. My thought is there isn't even a light in the rear light bar. But you should be able to by the parts from Ford. not sure how cheap it would be. Helm may have the service manual which would have the Part numbers in it.

  7. Hi -

Does anyone have any knowledge concerning enabling/swapping/wiring the LED Tailight Bar? I bought a 2015 SEL and want the tail light bar to light up. That is what attracted me to the Edge when I saw it at night and I feel like I got scammed that mine does not light up.

Can a Dealership swap the bar out ?

    Thanks,

    Ed

Ed. I feel the Same way I am pretty sure you can buy the parts, just need to know what to ask for. they have to have them if a Titanium or sport gets into an accident. even the front lighting. I haven't asked them yet, One thing I am not sure of is if the SE and the SEL even have the Lights and they are just not turned or. My thought is that they don't have the lighting that would need to be purchased. If you find out please let me know.

  8. When you say you have intelligent access for the rear hatch, do you mean that you can approach a locked vehicle with the fob in your pocket and touch the rear hatch button and it opens without having to unlock it first? Yes i can lock it with my FOB, and walk away the rear hatch does not open

And when it closes does it lock again? yes if I walk up wit the FOB in my pocket it unlocks when I tap the button under the handle

Is it powered or manual opener? Manual open

I agree it would be stupid to put in the proximity sensors and simply not turn them on. But maybe thats a paid upgrade. I have had many cars where something was there but nothing said it was and a friend or a forum said just ask for this and they can turn it on. Of course with cost associated.

  9. Everything is there, huh? Did he take apart the center console and check to see if the module and wiring is there that detects the proximity keys? Plus you would need the push-button start and not an actual key start. If you wanted all the features of the Titanium, you should have gotten a Titanium.

Don't be an A55. I didn't want the titanium its a simple question. The car has the tech built in. Its there. since you are unable to read, 1. you don't need to get the Titanium to get intelligent access its standard on the SEL, Titanium and Sport, its also Standard on all 2016 models so clearly Ford made a change. 2. The rear gate opens with intelligent access 3. all 2015 Edge models come with push button start as does mine

I have read that the SE does have intelligent access enabled for the rear gate this is normal operation. And yes I was standing there when the tech took the doors apart to verify that the wiring.

this is very simple to answer yes if the hardware is there then does it need to be enabled in software, or no they used all the same hardware, but unable to enable. It seems everything is there to have it it just needs enabled.

I have not tried this may i will try this and see http://owner.ford.com/how-tos/vehicle-features/locks-and-security/how-to-program-your-intelligent-access-key.html

on the SEL does anyone see in the info intelligent access? I have a my key set up.

Mine also has this I have seen it do it: Accessory Mode Battery Saver for Intelligent Access Keys (If Equipped)

If you leave the ignition switched on, it shuts off once it detects a certain amount of battery drain, or after 45 minutes.

Also to JoeVic - I read it somewhere but (but it may have been and escape forum) I am unable to find it even in the owner manual it only shows how to program keys

  10. Hands free yes it different, it will auto unlock just like intelligent access does when i walk up to it, I asked that same question to the dealer.

Also it says not available but that doesn't mean its not available, it means its not available when you buy that model, you can have them put the aftermarket signature lights on the front and a black grill, its just going to cost you rather then getting the Sport.

That being said you can't get the pano roof installed you would need to buy the SEL with it pre installed, but with enough money you could make it a convertible is one chooses. i guess.

  11. @Blk182atn7, which Tesla model are you waiting for? One of my colleagues has a BMW i8 and loves it. $35 per month in electricity for a daily driver, not bad! Another friend is waiting on a Tesla Model-X, and I'm quite interested how it handles the daily abuse of a family utility.

What will electric cars mean for DIY'ers? Considering they will be driven by software and sensors, there may be little that a home mechanic can do:

    http://consumerist.com/2015/05/20/gm-that-car-you-bought-were-really-the-ones-who-own-it/

Model III I want a smaller then the S version. We have a P85D for work I love it ludicrous speed is so awesome. Its a little large for what I am looking for for my everyday driver. the I8 is way to funky I Have see a few here driving around lots of i3. still see a few Fisker driving around but Tesla has pretty much taken over everyday aside form the one we drive I see 6 or 7. I looked at getting the RAV4 in 2012 wot the Tesla stuff but its only available in California

  12. Would be interesting to see if the electric automobile would allow as much DIY for the average owner as internal combustion engines do. Certainly anticipate less DIY needing to do vs DIY wanting to do.

The good thing is like Tesla they have it right they give you just about everything, so the need to DIY anything is gone. The base 70D has every thing the same aside as other models aside form a better sound system and premium interior, which mind is an option, thinly thing you can't get on the 70D is the P85D but you can upgrade the battery. every model of every vehicle should be bale to have every option is one chooses, if you don't want a black grill on your sport the bright grill isn't n option until aftermarket, give your customers everything in the beginning and change things like and bigger motor upgraded interior ad your options still has trim levels and still separates times. Its 2015 trim levels are an archaic past evolution.

  13. The Ambient Lighting on the Edge was a big draw for me to step up to Titanium from SEL. The wife wanted to save $$$ and get a loaded SEL instead, but I was able to convince her with some features like the driver memory seat and other creature comforts.

All in all, the Edge has a tonne of techy features on all trim levels. While it's an expensive beast, it will probably be the last car I buy to drive. (I anticipate keeping my Edge for 6-8 years, then buying a self-driving car.)

I can agree with that, I have had so many over 50k cars I know what I want and don't want now once the decision to not go Q5, I have zero complaints about my Edge, it really feels like drain a more expensive vehicle even at Base, Ford did it right. This won't be my last car, my Tesla Is on order. I have a while to wait but no more fuel cost. Overtime i fill up many of my vehicles I feel a little upset that we still use internal combustion. I was talking to my wife widely with Tesla being Open Source with the tech, a ford edge with the Tesla platform would be freaking awesomeness. F85D Edge Edition

  14. The rear light bar shouldn't be a trim level option. So your telling me I have real time view of the AWD traction on the screen, I can push button start my car, see all four wheels TPS but they couldn't add at $100 red lighting to all models as a new look and safety item. I totally agree there are things that a base model shouldn't have hell I didn't think the base model would have push button start that's unheard of unless it's a Kia or hyundai. But it's a rear light that 1. adds safety and visibility to the rear of the vehicle 2. Looks really cool. 3. Set the gen2 apart from the previous Gen.

Even my friend who has a 2015 SEL with every option says the same thing they should all just have the rear light.

  15. gas door does not lock. you could have them try to activate them, they probably gonna charge you 1hrs time at $60-300 depending upon dealer. FYI all 4 doors should be intelligent key not just front 2

Yes I am aware all four doors would have intelligent access. You totally missed what I was saying. My door handles are wired for it. There is no reason other then intelligent access to have wiring in the handle. I don't care i don't care if work. My question is simply, is it possible to activate since it appears the hardware is installed. The rear gate is intelligent access so the vehicle does have it active if only partly so there has to be some way for the dealer to connect and say intelligent access rear door front doors all doors. FYI the 2016 all models are intelligent access standard.

  17. I have a 2015 Edge SE, wile it doesn't say i have intelligent access on the sticker, I do have the FOBs the rear gate is intelligent access and the front doors have the wiring and the lock/lines for it. I know this because a. you can see the last two but i had the dealer in California take the door out td they said if your car is equipped it will have wiring, well it does have it, thatch said I am not sure but they may be able to activate it.

So my question is does anyone know if its true that it can just be "activated" for the front doors?

also does the gas door lock? it doesn't seem like it.
