  1. seems almost like the timing cover is leaking at the top. that or something out of site under the intake manifold. any ideas of what it could be? thanks!
  2. the fwd and AWD use the same transmission. AWD just has a PTU bolted to it. that's where the longer intermediate shaft goes in the FWD version. the the right half-shaft is a different length too.

  4. been seriously thinking about removing ptu/propshaft and installing intermediate shaft and right half-shaft from a fwd version. fairly confident it will work. btw, monitoring with forscan while driving casually (slow acceleration), the rear wheels are powered almost all the time, when starting from a stop or even slow coasting turn, as soon as you have any throttle pedal input, you get AWD on. so it's not just when there's wheel slip. turning off traction control seems to make barely any difference. (slight percentage less) tho my plan might causing the ecm to freak out tho when the front wheels actually slip. just going to do this while to put off buying another PTU until a bit after Christmas
  5. couldn't find anything on here about this and I found the app and already had the OBD2 dongle. it's called FORScan. I have the lite version and it has done everything I needed as far as diagnosing ABS issues. Figured I should mention it here for you all to see http://www.forscan.org/
  6. our 07 edge (sel awd) has 88,000 miles and we haven't had it that long, but since day one has felt way loose. loose my not be the best way to describe it. it feels like it leans too much. this is my first larger vehicle, and i know they cant handle as well as a smaller coupe or sedan. so i had to borrow my father's nissan armada, and that felt like it had way less sway specifically on round abouts. now logic tells me that the bigger heavier truck should sway more, is this normal behavior for the edge? what are common suspension items i need to look over?? im starting to think rear shocks are in order, but how about bushings? thanks for any info!
  7. i know the newest turbo 4cyl mustang is bosch med17, so i just figured that it would be bosch med9 or 17. thats what i get for assuming!!
  8. really? not bosch based ecu? are they wideband at least?
  9. just want to point out that if these are MAF cars, venting to atmosphere will actually hinder performance and fuel mileage. this is because you are venting metered air that the ecu uses for load calculations, along with how much fuel to inject. it will know something is up when the oxygen sensors are registering rich from lack of oxygen. usually the best way to get a sweet BOV sound, without loosing any power, is to get a metal intake with cone filter. if you have a way to check fuel trims, thats where you will see the ecu removing fuel. tho also a badly bad intake with cause fuel trim issues too
  10. i know a lot of auto transmissions have to be filled with them up to temp and running, and you put it in till it comes out the fill hole. maybe just leftovers?? either way thats sloppy for a dealership to let that leave the bay
  11. is the oem in the mirror? where are you guys putting yours?? installing a pioneer touch screen soon, and just looking for ideas. also, anyone install a flip down monitor in their ceiling?? might do that for the kids thanks for any input/ideas!
  12. i just got my 07 edge a few weeks ago, and i noticed with the hood up, i can see right down to the ground? in all of my other cars, there was some sort of tray or shield there to keep out water and whatnot from the engine bay. i also noticedif i left it off for a while my engine bay would get dirty quickly. just wondering if thats missing on mine, or if they never had them to begin with? thanks for any info!!

  15. if you have a continuity tester or multi meter you can test the sensor wires for shorts, would need a wiring diagram tho. i have alldata, i will look and see if i can find one to post later on when i get home
