  1. That was the problem. Good to go. Thanks for all of your help.
  2. I found the problem and I'm fixed. There is a connector/push rod that I forgot to connect. So I had to take the whole thing back apart and reassemble. Test drive was fine. Hopefully it doesn't throw that stupid code again. It will likely be for sale soon.
  3. I think I found it in the manual. I'm gonna try it. I wish she had a mustang fox body. We would of been on the strip by now.
  4. I have downloaded the chitons manual and this is not clarified. On the top right of the valve body there is a piston, this piston touches the manual lever inside the transmission. There is a bolt, or rod that is part of the transmission range sensor that moves left and right with the manual lever. Does this rod/bolt fit the far right groove on the piston? To help clarify my question. Does this rod on the transmission range sensor/assembly move this piston left and right through the valve body to change the gear selection in the valve body? When I removed the valve body yesterday, I could not note its location once I pulled the valve body. This piston has notches down its entire length and moves freely once the valve body was removed. It almost fell out.
  5. I do know now the vehicle will only start in park and neutral.
  6. Is it possible I may of unaligned the cable/selector in the console when I did the shifter override?
  7. I did have the battery disconnected before I started. I am wondering if I lined the transmission range sensor up properly. I am almost positive I lined the lever up in the initial position as I found it. I wish I knew which gap it should be in to be corrected if I need to tear I back open. I will try thr reset as you mentioned before I drain the fluid and check inside.
  8. My search function is not working correctly on my browser, keeps showing nothing found. I used the shifter over ride on the console to put the vehicle in neutral then I performed the OSS and TSS replacement following the manual. Topped off with fluids, reconnected everything. Put it back in park. Reset the computer codes. Cranked the car and the shifter is acting up. First I had, Park in P, Neutral in R, Neutral in N, Forward in H, not sure in L. I inserted the key back in the over ride on the console, and moved the shifter from Park to L and back to Park. Recranked the car and now I have: Park in P, Reverse in R, Neutral in N, Neutral in H, and Reverse in L. What is the reset for this? Any suggestions would be great.
  9. I reckon she can drive to the beach in reverse .
  10. Ok I came home today and did the sensor swap. I forgot to put the car in neutral per directions before I disconnected the battery and it wouldn't go into neutral. So I used the override next to the shifter did the swap. Now my linkages are off. I have park, neutral, neutral and then reverse again. Anyone know the trick to resetting the linkages at the shifter? I did not touch the linkages at the transmission during the install, also when I removed the spring loaded lever near the valve body, I made sure I lined it up appropriately.
  11. I called ford today and they said stop by tomorrow. A mechanic got on the phone and asked if I could come in, in person and he said they might be able to help, no promises, since we brought the car to them in the warranty period for a transmission related issue. I believe it was a leak. I'll know more tomorrow after shift. Thanks for the replies.
  12. my wife has a 2008 edge SEL and has had intermittent issues for over a year that she was not able to describe. Today she took a picture and I researched I have found has lead me to believe the TSS AND OSS are on there way out. She has a trip planned to visit her folks next week and is starting to worry about the trip. She has made several trips over the past year with no problems, nor worries. I have found a manual to replace these sensors on this site and it is labeled for the 2007. Does anyone know if this is the correct steps for the 2008 as well? http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=7768 Attached is the picture of her dash when the issue happens. When the problem happens she notices no acceleration as the vehicle is in neutral. And the problem corrects itself once placed in park and the vehicle is restarted. I am working the fire house today and thought I would tackle the process tomorrow since I'm off work. Thanks
