  1. Hi: Can anyone explain the difference here? I have an awesome 95 Explorer that has true 4WD, and the low setting has come in very handy sometimes. Parts are getting to be an issue, however, so we are looking to replace and downsize. It seems that the Explorer does not come in true 4WD anymore. The 2016 Edge has AWD. The 2017 Escape is advertising 4WD. Advice appreciated. Is it worth waiting for the 2017 Escape to get true 4WD, possibly with a low setting? Thank you!
  2. The engine is bigger, so I'm confused why no towing package is offered. The dealer said that he could put on an OEM hitch. But is there a good engineering reason why no towing package is offered? I'm worried that adding an OEM hitch in that scenario might damage the car. Thank you!
  3. Thanks to all for advice. Looks like we will have to get a Sport to get the other options, but may have to wait for the initial rush to subside to get a Sport without sunroof since we really don't want a sunroof for all the reasons discussed (loss of headroom, potential for leak, potential safety issues, etc.)
  4. It seems like the only way to get a loaded Edge 2016 without sunroof is to buy the Sport. Can one get a Titanium with all the new electronics and safety options without the sunroof? The packages don't seem to allow this, but wondering if there is another way. Thank you!
  5. Hi: I have no expertise about car stuff, so would appreciate advice. The dealer says that regular gas is fine for the Ecoboost engine in the Edge 2016, but many reviews mention that it needs premium gas. Given the price difference, we'd prefer regular, but why does everyone mention premium? Will it hurt the engine to use regular? Thank you!
  6. We are looking at replacing our awesome but old Explorer with an Edge. The Explorer has P235/70R15 tires. We want the Edge Sport due to the safety and tech features, and also because we don’t want a sunroof (cramps headroom), so we can’t get a Titanium. But everything I’ve read says that the larger wheels (in this case 20 or 21”) are primarily for looks, and that one takes a hit in durability, snow, and off-road use with the bigger wheels (the possible increment in handling is of no interest to us since we drive conservatively). Thus, we would love advice about: Can we replace the 20” wheels that come standard with the Sport with 18” wheels? Is there any safety or other reason why one should not do this? If we do this, should we get the wheels from Ford when we buy the car or from another source? Thank you!
