  1. 2008 Edge Limited. Something was left on and the battery totally drained. But that's OK! I have jumper cables! Except they are in the spare tire storage compartment. And even if I crawl over into the back, the panel is trapped by the liftgate. Is there any way to manually open the liftgate without electrics?
  2. We've had a candy red 2010 Limited which we bought new. But it was a hurried purchase; my Maxima threw a rod. Had to have a car NOW. Dear Wife never liked the red. Years pass and my daughter's car, a 2004 Focus ZTS starts having electrical problems. So we trade cars with her so I can oversee it at my local shop. Well, a plan is hatched. Daughter keeps the red 2010, which she loves. (new house, so an Edge is perfect). The Focus gets fixed and bequeathed to a niece graduating HS; the perfect college car since we know the whole history. And the Dear Wife gets... ...a 2013 Edge Limited, Ford certified, 22K miles, in mint condition. Not even a single door ding. This time, she gets to pick the colors and such. And she picks a combo that is VERY hard to find: 2013 or 2014 Limited Ford certified used under 30K miles Never a snow car. (Saw matching cars in Rochester, Detroit and Northeast Iowa. And a couple in warmer states (Nashville was one) that CarFax revealed to be snow cars) 2wd Mineral Grey Metallic (which is really Taupe; it's got gold metal flake that gives it brown hues) Medium Light Stone interior (This is the killer to match. What is it with black interiors? They're everywhere!) Searched nation-wide on cars.com, autotrader.com, kbb.com, carmax.com, carsdirect.com, truecar.com... We found ONE match. Union City, Georgia. AutoNation Ford dealership. Car was originally sold in AZ. Lived its life in FL. Called and had them walk the car. They assured us it was so clean it could go on the showroom floor. So with that and the Ford certification to assuage our fears, we went through a local Ford AutoNation dealer and bought the car sight-unseen. about 26K delivered. Scary! But it all worked out great. Local guy was very helpful. Car was shipped from Georgia and we picked it up yesterday. Got a great interest rate through Bank of America; hell, I went to 60 months because the interest total was so low ($20/mo; essentially a delivery pizza and a couple of beers once a month), it was basically 5 yrs same as cash. Pretty surprised at how different the feel is for the 2010 and the 2013. So familiar, yet so different. Is this what it's like to date twins?
