  1. Got a call back from Service on Saturday. Ford Engineering contacted them after receiving pics of the wheels (a requirement of the system for a visual issue?). They are aware of the issue and do not have an answer to the problem as of yet from a design/process standpoint. They are working on a "band-aid" (my word, not theirs) as they will NOT be replacing wheels going forward but will be re-affixing the cladding to the wheel. There is not safety impact to the condition so I am to continue to drive it with the noise until they come up with the "super glue" (again me, not them) needed to fix it at which point they will issue a TSB for all to see. HUH!??!?!!? Still not sure what to do or say....

    Thoughts?

  2. 21K miles on my '08. Crusin' thru drive-thru on Monday and... click, click, click... almost like a baseball card in your bicycle spokes... Took into dealer today and after about 30 minutes service guy came out to say there was a pending service bulletin for the cladding on the wheels. Had a call into Ford and asked if I could hang until they called back. No problem. He came back in about 15 minutes and said new wheels were on order and all 4 would be replaced per Ford. "Cladding" was separating from rest of rim.

Anyone heard of an update in regards to the processing of the clad/wheels? Just curious as to the revision-level of the replacements.

  3. I just got my wife an Edge.

I got it for $28,500 out the door. X plan.. the cars sticker price was 27,900

    The price includes the following.

SE with convenience and Tow package

    Gap insurance

3 years worth of oil changes

Loaner if the car needs to be at the shop for more than a day.

All tax titles and dealer fees are included.

I also got 0% APR for 6 years.

    what do you guys think?

Congrats and welcome to the forum!! Lots of great folks here with a lot of great ideas and knowledge to share!

  4. Now, If so, why the mention of that $55 pigtail? Does that, I wonder, imply that you can take the purchased pigtail, plug that into the bundle coming out of the headliner and plug that new pigtail into the unit and have it fire up quicker than running a new wire? The pigtail comment implies to me that that pig tail you could buy would bypass the current connection and supply the needed power to that motherboard to light those LEDs. In a way, that makes sense as that seems like something they could just pop in at the factory to make this system work rather than running wires as many of these parts are the same as in the Lincoln.

Anyway... if we can hear from Jpark, it might explain more as I am a little confused by what the pig tail would offer or if, since we only tie into 2 pins, we can manually do this (clip or solder to a pin) and get this going.

Holy Crap! I've read this post 4 TIMES and still don't have a clue what you said! :sos:

  5. We've had several 95 degree days in Atlanta with no problems. When the outside air is 90 or above you should definitely use recirculate.

We've never had to keep the fans on high more than 5 or 10 minutes even on the hottest days.

Thanks for pointing that out akirby. That is something I missed mentioning when I posted earlier about no issues in NE GA. I always run the unit on recirculate.

  6. I have intermittent problems with Sync recognzing mine. Frustrating as I can get in and out of the car a dozen times and it syncs up every time. Then on the very next entry into the car, I spend 5 minutes trying to connect it. Oh well... My phone (LG VX8700) isn't on the "list" at sync (as referenced by CorporateEdge) so I knew there might be issues. Up for new phone next year and will hopefully find one on the list that I like and go with it.

  7. Hi Lex!

I honestly came straight home due to some friends coming over for the evening. I'll try to take note this weekend and drive some roads I noticed the rolling on before. I really don't know what to expect from it but I'm not expecting a lot. Just had it in for the oil and said what the heck, give it a shot! TSB08-05-12

Pics of the shield this weekend! I must honestly say I've let it get um, dirty (the Edge that is) and need to clean it up b4 putting it b4 the camera! :shades:

  8. Took Edge in this morning for 1st service. Sitting on about 5000 miles. Was gonna wait til 7500, but had ordered a bug shield, it was in, so took it on in.

Things done and done well were -

    Oil Change

    Tire Rotation

    TSB for Rolling in Drive

Programmed the Daytime running lights (switch in Automatic, lights on at 80%; gets dark enough - full power - very sweet!)

Replaced the weather stripping in the read doors. For some reason, it was not adhered very well.

    Attached bug deflector.

All I can think of... Great service!

  9. Michael,

Two years wasn't much. I have a set on a Mazda pick up I installed when I bought it new 8 years ago and they still look good as new. No scratches, chips or or anything. They are the in-channel ones though. I got them at an Autozone off the rack. They had them instock I guess for the F150 which the B4000 is a clone of.

Yeah, I'm not happy at all. Well actually I got past it a few years ago, but want to make sure I buy the right set for the Edge. If they work out well, I'm sure I'll replace the ones for the van and truck.

  10. I HIGHLY recommend the MacNeil WeatherTech's:

    http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvproduct...8&Year=2008

I also have this (Cargo Area Protector)

    http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvproduct...8&Year=2008

And the full set of these (Front/Rear Floor Protectors)

    http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvproduct...8&Year=2008

This is all top notch stuff, and it fits perfectly.

When I bought mine a year or so ago, the 4 deflectors, rear cargo protector and front/rear protectors totalled around $350 shipped. I do not regret it one bit. After one year the rear cargo area and front/rear carpets on my edge show ZERO wear. Not even a footprint :)

    -Larry

    Hi Larry!

How well have the rain deflectors held up in a year's time? Bought some for my wife's van and my F150 about 4 years ago (not from Weathertech) and within a year or 2 they were coming loose (adhesive) and have since cracked in a few places. Looking for something more durable.

    Thanks!

  11. I live in Phoenix and the AC is flat out not designed properly. You should be able to feel the air coming out of the vents, the same manner as how a fan works in your home. It doesn't make it cooler but you feel cooler.

It's ridiculous that I have to put the ac on max to feel the slightest air movement. I have owned a dozen Fords in my life and rarely if ever used the max setting. With my Edge it's always on and it's still inadequate.

Might want to have that looked at. I feel the air from vents often to the point of having to bump the temp up to "slow the fan". Have never ran it at max setting. As mentioned (looked it up this morning), avg temp this summer has been 98. Add in humidity avg of 65% and it is hard to cool the body down. I often turn it down and or away from me as I get too cold.

  12. I agree with Lex and Corporate--the capacity of the system is more than adequate, and I live in Phoenix! But the outlet grilles definitely could be better--they just don't allow much lateral adjustment.

I agree with Lex and Corporate and jeffreybehr... Not in Phoenix but averaging 95+ all summer and no issues except could use more adjustment.
