  1. Has anybody experienced a situation where when moving the car from P to R or D they get a thunk come up through the transmission? This started happening recently and I'm concerned that it could be the first sign of a larger problem. The vehicle has 15,600 miles on it, it's a 2008 AWD Limited.
  2. My only issue with Sync is that I know what it will ask and I get ahead of it a bit. When I first tried Sync, I was worried that I might be too monotone and mumble a bit too much for it, no problems though. Some issues with non-English named songs, but that's to be expected.
  3. I tried that last night for demonstration purposes when I dropped it at the dealer. They had none in stock, but they had a Mustang with it in stock and it sounded far better than my Edge. When I pick it up tonight, I'll try to go through that motion again. We even set the volume to the exact same level on both for comparison.
  4. You should be able to go to www.fordpartner.com and check the local dealer inventory with X-Plan pricing. The moonroof is absolutely fantastic. By default, it opens about 75% and is more quiet there than fully open. For highway use, I leave it where it wants to stop instead of all of the way open. The liner has limited the car from getting too hot in the summer, at least it's not any hotter than other cars. This was a concern I had with the moonroof, but it was a non-issue.
  5. You'll absolutely want to upgrade the subwoofer in it, even with the audiophile system it is nothing to praise. If anybody knows good options for updating it, please let me know as well. Addendum: I just spoke with Crutchfield and they said they have the Polk Audio 840DVC that will drop in there fine. That was the only drop-in option.
  6. I recently picked up a 2008 Ford Edge Limited AWD with Navigation & Sync from Koons Ford in Sterling, VA and I've enjoyed it so far, except the navigation system has a remarkable level of static in it. It starts and ends with static and the voice sounds a bit rough, beyond turning it down so low that it's hard to hear, I've been unable to find any workaround that lets me hear it and sounds tolerable. I brought it back to the dealer and their reply was that it was supposed to sound like that and as I already know, if I turn it down, the static is gone. Granted, you can barely hear it the voice, but at least you can't hear the static. Is this just a flaw in the navigation unit? I cannot believe for a second that in a vehicle that's generally this good, they would just toss it onto the sales lot with such a poor navigation unit. It all strikes me as implausible that Ford engineers were saying, "Let's try to make this one really great, maybe nobody will notice all that static!"
