@macbwt That's exactly what it looks like. Thanks. The video was perfect for my 2015. It's real dark back there when the hatch door won't open and hard to see without a flashlight. It was also helpful to see the plastic door/plug popped out using a key. I'll remember that for next time.

Thanks for the location of the release. I figured there had to be one. It is real small (~5" x 1") plastic panel right by the latch on the inside of the tailgate. I could not get it off, so I gave up until I need to do it. Good suggestion of the key, but I didn't want to snap something off, since the car is only a year old. Yeah we did lower the back seats. Still a pain though.

Our 2015 edge liftgate/tailgate all of a sudden wouldn't operate. The FOB, button inside or button on the gate didn't do anything. There didn't seem to even be a manual way to open the liftgate. We had to pull the groceries we got out over the back seat. When pressing the button inside or on the tailgate itself, nothing happened. When we pressed the FOB the car acknowledged the press of the tailgate button (lights flash), but nothing related to the tailgate or any warning noises. I expected a chime or something if the obstruction system had kicked in. I went through the challenging task of removing and testing fuse 68 (remove for 20 seconds). The fuse box is in the engine compartment and this fuse is in the "bottom" fuse box (see owners manual for vague directions). Remove two battery plugs to the fuse box and then release two clips to get to the bottom fuse box cover. Two more clips on the bottom cover and the bottom fuses are accessible. Fuse 68 tested fine with a continuity tester. Put it all back together. The car kinda freaked out (wouldn't turn over, ABS bad and a lot of systems were failing). Re -checked my connections since the car was fine before I started. Turns out, I didn't get the negative connection to the fusebox connector all the way down. Pushed it down more firmly and re-latched it. Now the car started and all the warnings reset himself with a quick drive around the block. Good news is the liftgate now works again. Hopefully, this helps someone else. Is the anyway to manually open the tailgate when the battery or tailgate module is dead?
