  1. How do you know it's not coming back? I just tried using auto and only temperature and of course it simply does not work. The car itself can control the temperature of the air put into the cabin together with the speed of fans. It's not always the same temperature of the air the car is putting into the cabin, it controls the manifold opening. Such a useful feature removed. Why don't Ford remove also all other options, like navigation (redundant), multimedia (redundant) and phone (redundant)?
  2. You are wrong. They got rid of the non tactile buttons. But they replaced them with tactile buttons that are badly positioned (both temperature and fan speed share the same horizontal orientation). The cluster menu is perfect, your eyes are always partly on road.
  3. If climate is redundant then multimedia, phone and navigation are also redundant! It makes no sense. Ford removed a very very important feature from the car. They should put it back with the next update. How do we even update the 4.2" screens? By the way, I never know what temperature I want, I want it colder or hotter with more or less fan noise.
  4. It does not make it easier, at all. I want to control thermostat and fan speed, without killing everyone in the car by taking my eyes off the road. Did Ford ever explain why they removed the functionality from their cars? Don't they have UX experts? Did they have a bug? Don't they have developers to fix it? I'm an IT engineer so, it is mind boggling for me to see Ford remove functionality and make things dangerous for users.
  5. Why was such a useful feature removed? This is how I must change climate now: Look down Search for the temperature button Look up Search for the temperature information Click buttons Look down Search for the fan speed button Look up Search for the fan speed information Click buttons Up to THREE SECONDS can pass while not looking on the road! Why? P.S. What are the voice commands to say "one more/one less centigrade" and "faster" or "slower" fan speed?
  6. If you do that, it will keep heating the car for longer time which is not what you want, you want the same thermostat setting just slower fans.
  7. That just makes no sense. One controls the thermostat the other controls the speed of fans. It was not confusing, at all. I always had Climate control on my right 4.2" screen. I had almost no other use for the right screen, everything else (changing stations, seeing road indications) was done via buttons on the steering wheel. I almost never used the center console, ever.
  8. The automatic control always spins fans faster than necessary and they make noise. I never use automatic setting True, bitching here won't bring back the function. It is mind boggling that they REMOVE features with each new iteration. Did Ford fire the wrong guys?
  9. Did you read what I just wrote, all the steps I have to do while doing it? It takes up to three seconds. Look down Search for the temperature button Look up Search for the temperature information Click buttons Look down Search for the ventilator speed button Look up Search for the ventilator speed information Click buttons
  10. Half of the time it does not recognize my voice commands. What exactly do you say to: set temperature set fan speed
  11. You have +/- button that are small and in the same line with the ventilator speed buttons. All four buttons horizontal, so no way of hitting the right button without looking. Ford used to have temperature +/- buttons vertically oriented and ventilator speed +/- buttons horizontally oriented, so yes, it was a bit easier to hit buttons without looking. But, it's an automatic climate control so you have to LOOK for the temperature reading and ventilator speed ON THE CENTER SCREEN. I tell you, changing temperature in the car is now downright dangerous. Look down Search for the temperature button Look up Search for the temperature information Click buttons Look down Search for the ventilator speed button Look up Search for the ventilator speed information Click buttons Up to THREE SECONDS can pass while not looking on the road! Why would Ford downgrade our cars and make them more dangerous?
  12. Why in the world did Ford remove such a useful feature? The thing one fiddles most with is climate. Right now I have to put my eyes off the road, search for the button on the center console, put my eyes up, on the 8" screen, search for the small information trying to find out what F did I select, put my eyes AGAIN on the center console, search for the button to change ventilator speed, put my eyes AGAIN on the 8" screen and search again for the information regarding the ventilator speed and all that time my eyes are OFF THE ROAD! Why Ford?! How can we rollback the software downgrade Ford did to our cars?
  13. Hi y'all. I just got myself Ford Edge SEL 2016 with old SYNC touch. I traded in my Fusion. On Fusion, I was able to change driver's climate via right 4.2" display and steering wheel controls. On my Edge, there is no such option! I only have these options: Entertainment, Navigation, Phone. There is no Climate option on the right 4.2" display. Do all Ford Edge 2015 with the old SYNC touch have the same problem or is it just mine that lacks climate control via steering wheel?
