Owned several Taurus cars and now have a girlfriend with a 2013 Edge. She has a problem with it so I thought I'd read up on a few things other owners have discovered about their Edge. My user name comes from my daughters car. As almost every vehicle has become "Drive by Wire" the discrete component trouble shooting I did many years ago as an electronic bench tech before LSI and VLSI made that a thing of the past, it now applies to most cars. Everything is controlled by sensor outputs.
