  1. Hey guys, I have some extra scratch in my pocket. Looking at wrenches. What is the biggest wrench needed for a diy'er on the Edge? Besides the axle nut what should be in our toolboxes? Wrench wise. I'm thinking its 24mm which I have. I know not all wrench sets come with a 24. BIggest we need????
  2. Hey folks, 2009 fwd, needs a front wheel bearing. Just starting to make a noise. Not toast yet. I did a search and found conflicting info, so I'll lay it out. Got a quote today for $332.32 to replace. This is a pressed in wheel bearing, others say different. Pressed in. I've done some work to my fords, from suspension, brakes, evap, cooling. I do have a ton of tools, and have done a handful of wheel hub assemblies on Gm's. I have not done a pressed in wheel bearing. I live in Canada with heavy salt and rust, making even removing tires a sledgehammer job when on for a long time with no anit-seize. Has anyone done this at home, with heavy rust and not kicked their dog or pulled their hair out? I was looking at buying a ATD front wheel drive bearing tool from amazon and giving it a try. Or swallow my pride and pay the dough and be done with it. Any experience out there on this job? Thx!
  3. So here is an udate for people with the same problem. My drivers side fan has stopped again. But can be made to work again by shaking the wires or tapping the motor with a wrench. So the new fan system is ordered. $350 with rockauto. Let you know how things go.
  4. Not sure if its the same as the 2009 but the glovebox does need some muscle to pop it out. Maybe more force than you are placing on it.
  5. Ill keep this updated and let people know if in the short term it does stop working again.
  6. Ok so this is what happened today. First I called the Ford dealer for the Motorcraft unit. Here in Canada it's $739 after tax. So Im about to order it off of RockAuto. This morning I decided to test power and ground to the fans. I take out the airbox and remove two of the connectors and both are getting power and ground. So I figure its the fan itself. Put it all back together and suddenly the drivers side fan is working again! I have been driving it and let it sit in the driveway, so far so good. I have heard of another owner having the same thing happen. Thoughts??
  7. Thx for quick reply! I was afraid of that. Ill look into prices on that unit.
  8. Hey folks. I just got a bluedriver last night. Ran some scans and found a p0480. Cooling fan 1 circuit. No check engine light one. But looking under the hood I see the drivers side fan is not running, in hot weather, with the A/C on. Anyone else deal with this problem? I have seen some fixes involving the a/c selector switch, but im not sure how to test that switch. Thx! Ill post fix when I figure it out but looking for direction.
