  1. Haha, its a normal occurrence with these Edges alright, but its not supposed to happen.

Ours had been replaced twice, and we went a good 1.5 years without it failing, but we got condensation again.  Time to go back before I run out of warranty.

Just clarification - we get some hazy condensation now, which is a lot better than the original one that was filling with water like an aquarium.

The Ford Edge was another model that received a poor rating for its lack of visibility.

Ford Edge rated as pretty terrible.

Its amazing, I have the same bulbs in my Impreza as the Edge, but my Impreza lights up the whole road. My Edge is like trying to light my way with a potato.

I see there are a few threads about HID conversions, but has anyone just tried sticking a H9 bulb in there? It's the same bulb as the H11, just more wattage.

  3. For those of you that have done the H9 mod, how did you remove the extra "tab" in the bulb socket? Break it off, grind it with Dremel etc?

    TIA

I used a chisel and a razor blade on the plastic. Just clipped off the metal with wire clippers.

Or you can get adapter plugs off of Amazon or eBay. Usually people will go an extra step and waterproof these with some silicon caulk or some dielectric grease.

So that you can open the liftgate without unlocking the car. So that you can open the liftgate from a distance for someone else who is close to the car. So that you can open the liftgate for somebody stuck inside the cargo area.

If you want to "take it all the way", then pay for the power option that Ford offers. If you wanted the struts to be strong enough to push it open, then it would be impossible to close.

What's the difference between the liftgate being unlocked and the whole car being unlocked? Kind of pointless. Why can't a person in the back just lower the seat and go out the door? Why are cargo areas being used as elaborate traps?
