From my first post I said the latest recall does NOT include the Edge model akirby! My hope is to hear how other Edge owners are dealing with same known problems and if there is a possible connection to recalled door latches.The door latch recall keeps growing to include more and more cars. I'm just exploring any possible connection to my vehicle's issues.

Easy for you to say "pay immediately" akirby! Doors that don't lock is a safety issue. Ford knows it is a problem with many Edge vehicles.For those two reasons,it is not a stretch for it to be a recall!

I filed a complaint with the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration.If there are enough complaints then their engineers will look at the problem. Curiously,on the the NHTSA website there are 2 communications between Ford manufacturers that say this is a problem and how it should be fixed. When doors can't lock,it is a safety issue. Ford needs to take responsibility.

Thank you for the suggestions of how to fix problem. I will research further. Between paying for health insurance ($1000 a month),mortgage,taxes,kids college... there is nothing left anymore. Gone are raises and bonuses with this weak economy. And the local Ford dealer service thinks I should pay to have this problem fixed and hope that Ford will eventually include my vehicle in recall and I would be reimbursed. I would laugh if it weren't such pathetic times for us little working people. To the person who asked "what recall?" Please check internet for Ford 2 million car recall!

My 2012 Edge just started doing the same. No matter how hard or as many times the driver door is closed, the door ajar sensor lights up and there are warning chimes too. The most troubling is the in car lights stay on and the doors won't lock! After reading about the recall and most recent addition of vehicles to the recall, I believe it is the same issue I have. I called dealer service department for an appointment and they told me my vehicle is not part of the recall. I am going to have a fight on my hands but I will not be paying one penny to fix this problem! Please update me to any of your progress with your cars. If there are enough Edge owners that demand help then maybe recall will be expanded.

My 2012 Edge seems to have the same problems as the recalled models.Service department at dealer says my car is not part of recall. My doors won't lock and sensor beeps saying door is ajar. Any other Edge owners have this problem?
