The problem is that I'm the only one to have this car and I live in the Azores islands. I talked with the sales man asking to try another Edge when available and he said that they will not have one that soon...(it will take at least a year...so I have no point of comparison for now!). The Edge has been released to Europe only this year! Usually I wouldn't jump into buying a brand new model but I really fell in love with this car and it just happened that they had the one I wanted (Black and Sport Model) at the Ford Stand, so I traded in my Kuga. I'm really pleased with the overall performance of the car...it's perfect for the Island, since we have a lot of curves and this car really excels when in Sport Mode! It's just this small issue with the transmission that's bugging me. But if it's the nature of the transmission, I can live with that because it doesn't happen all the time and this car is great! I just hope that it's not an issue that will increase gear wear!!
Regarding the oil, I already went to the Ford shop...the mechanic went for a drive with me and said it was normal behaviour...they usually do a general check before they deliver the car (when you buy a new one) and they told me they checked the transmission oil...but I'm going to insist on a re-check. But I also noticed that when you push the car (give more rpm than usual, up to 4000 rpm) on the way back home (for example), afterwards (an hour later) when you go for a drive again, the shift is more fluid...
