So...interestingly enough the 2013 Edge latch mechanism(and white, hanging "switch" for the sensor)are identical to the mechanism in the video, for the 2013 Explorer. I'm still reluctant to start "shaving" parts, like the video poster did. I did out in the driveway, and closed the latch mechanism, by pushing the little "cam" to the fully locked position, and pushed the white hanging switch contact, like the video indicated. I just wanted to educate myself, and get ready to purchase the electrical contact cleane(NOT WD-40)..I also contacted my favorite Ford Tech. to ask about TSBs on this issue and or/possible safety recalls, as a different member posted.
