  1. If I recall, the voice nav from the Car Play map will still broadcast if you switch back to the Ford radio.
  2. That is the correct part w/ the blue accent lighting. Once you have the install completed start the car and let Sync load completely before plugging in your phone, after that the Car Play accept screen should pop right up. I also put the car in neutral with the parking brake on to have more room to work with.
  3. Thanks for the heads up about the leather sealer, appreciate it.
  4. Success!!! One attempt to remove from the front and said.....no way this will be easy. Removed trim from passenger side center console, really easy by just pulling and popping the clips out. Then removed the rear cover to the center console behind the USB port for full access. Felt for the tabs and squeezed my fingers in there and pressed the tabs down while pushing on the back and it slid right out. Tied off the wires with a couple pieces of fishing line so they didn't drop back in. Each connector for the hub had a small clip, removed the old and connected the new. Plugged in my phone and Apple Car Play came right up, accepted and looks beautiful. All in all really easy to swap out, maybe 20 minutes tops.
  5. Thanks, is it really that hard from the front if you have a trim removal tool? If I attack from the back, anything special to know about getting the hub out?
  6. So....picked up my new 2016 Edge yesterday and notice no Apple Car Play. Currently have Sync version 2.0 which is Car Play compatible but according to what I am seeing I need to upgrade the USB hub in the console area. Ordered part # HC3Z-19A387-B from Sweeney Ford and picked up a trim removal set from Amazon for $6. Hope to tackle the replacement this weekend, will let you know my results.
  7. Finally picked up my 2016 Edge Titanium, think the color combo is sharp, for the price didn't care one bit.
  8. Also can add a couple of Sorrento's to my list. CX-9 is an older model, 2010 which is my wifes car. Very sporty, good power but like the Edge better, New CX-9's do look nice!
  9. In the last 6 months, I have rented a whole bunch of SUV/CUV's, most of them higher end models with nice packages. Rav 4 Murano Santa Fe Every size Chevy SUV/CUV Mazda CX - 3, 5, 9 Tiguan Buick Encore & Enclave Out of all of them the Edge was the ahead of the all imo.
  10. Thanks everyone for the welcome..... I do a lot of business travel, have rented 2 Edge Titaniums w/EB recently and really like the car and the low end acceleration. Coming out of a VW GLI and don't feel as if I am giving up any of that low end acc/torque. Think the color combo is sharp and don't see many around, just need to keep it nice and clean. 10 years ago I would have never considered a Ford but I think they have come a long way recently, only American car brand I would purchase. Should have it in about 3 weeks, will post up some pics and I'm sure I will have lots of questions!
  11. Will be a new and first time Ford owner in a couple of weeks. Picking up a new 2016 Titanium AWD , 2.0 EB, 300A package, Tech package, panoramic roof, and tow package. Didn't have a choice on color.........Bronze Fire w/ ceramic interior.
