I get out of the car. Walk away. It honks once after about 30 to 45 seconds. Still unlocked I open the door and the alarm goes off.

Hello all! New here! So my question is when we get out of our 2013 edge still unlocked it eventually beeps once than requires us to use the key fob to hit unlock or else the alarm goes off when we try using the door handle. Is there a way to turn this off completely or do I have to live with this? Thanks in advance!
