Mine was fixed by replacing F2GZ-9D289-ATube Assembly - Fuel Vapor Separator

my 2017 edge with the 2.0L engine would intermittently do this:

The hesitation and rough running is because of the vacuum leak created by the vapor/fuel separator valve being stuck open.
when it is making the noise, stop, leave engine running and check your fuel door.

Your engine is leaking water into cylinder 3. This is a common problem with the 2.0 Ecoboost engine. The dealer will replace the entire engine. You will be provided with a loaner car because this will take quite a long time. Here is the TSB for this problem.

I don't have any info that would help but I wanted to remind you that the transmission in the 2019 EDGE is the new 8-speed transmission. Someones experience with older transmissions may not be applicable to yours.

Use Top Tier gas.

Great that it is covered. You must have an extended warranty because a 2009 would have expired long ago.

I have a 2016 Titanium 2.0L AWD. It only has 8000 miles and it has had a PTU seal leak. I believe this is common and in my case the dealer installed a newer style seal under warranty. My PTU has a drain plug, I believe all PTU's in 2016 and newer EDGE's have the drain plug which makes fluid changes much easer.

I have seen the same thing on MACT Ford Edge facebookpage. Same response from dealers.https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1678940345533312&set=gm.515941378802222&type=3&theater&ifg=1

I would encourage anyone with a Gen 2 EDGE (2015 - present) to look at the PTU seal for the right front wheel drive. Some of the original seals were defective or fail prematurly. This condition may only be on units with the 2.0L engine. My 2016 failed early, sometime before 7000 miles. The photos show the unit leaking, after repair and the parts used.

I'll update this post with some Pics.
How will this help 2 answer the Powertrain HP & torque limitations question for the 2016 Edge Sport AWD?
I very much doubt that I would have any info to help you with your question. Unless, seeing the differences in my PTU, air scoop & fins cast into housing provided any new helpful info. I found my PTU completely different than any I have seen photos of previously. I was curious as to what you had in your 2016 Sport looked anything like mine.

Today I changed engine oil, oil filter, and PTU oil at 5,200 mi.
The PTU oil change was real easy with the drain fitted on these later models.
As can be seen in the photo, the oil blacken the paper towel and there was a few filling attached to the drain plug magnet.
I used Royal Purple 75-140 synthetic, and will most likely change it every 10 ~ 15K
How are you transfering the Royal Purple to your PTU, pump used etc?

In that specific case, yes. It's the downshift. But ETC also has a built in lag off idle for driveability.
I have noticed the lag off of idle, I didn't know it was intentional and I don't like it. I don't understand how a lag in throttle response would be considered better driveability. It feels like a stumble, I much prefer immediate response at all times. Do the other engine options have these same charactoristics, lag off idle and slow to downshift?
-
That delay is most likely the electronic throttle, not the turbo. There is no turbo lag to speak of.
I thought the lag was from the transmission being slow to downshift. I notice the tach immediately shows the RPMs jump but the speed doesn't increase until the transmission downshifts a second later.

See post #488 of a 2016 Titanium PTU, and it looks very different to yours.
If that is in fact the PTU, it looks more robust than the one on the Sport.
My PTU looks very different than all other photos I have seen. The fins and overall shape appear different. More robust, I don't know about that, 7000 miles and it is leaking a coal black fluid. I have an appointment with the dealer Monday. My daughter has a 2016 AWD EDGE with basic trim. I plan on looking at hers soon to see if it has a drain and if it is leaking.

That's not a low point drain as found on the Sport, so you'll still need an extractor to get what remains after you drain from that plug.
I wonder why they did it like that, why not a drain plug as seen on the Sport?
I have not seen a photo of the PTU on the Sport so I don't know how it differs from mine. This drain is on the bottom of the PTU at it's lowest point pointing down to the ground. Do you have a photo of the Sport version? In looking at this image again I can see why you thought it was not at the low point, it appears to be on the side in this photo but it is on the bottom, my camera is pointed up and to the right slightly as I lay on the ground.

I crawled under my 2016 EDGE Titanium 2.0L AWD to have a look at the PTU. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my PTU has a drain. I was not happy to find that the PTU was leaking where the passanger side drive shaft exits the PTU. This EDGE was 1 year old yesterday and it only has 7100 miles. In one of the attached images the leak can be seen along with the fill plug just above that. The other image shows the drain plug which is on the bottom of the PTU pointing straight down. This PTU looks different than other photos I have seen of PTU's. This PTU has fins and both fill and drain plugs are torx.

I have a 2016 EDGE with AWD, when did Ford start putting a drain plug in the PTU?

Good to hear you got it done.

Yes, the 'READ ME' file you posted helped. When it said "use a Windows computer" I remembered seeing the different back slashes mentioned with respect to this upgrade.
Any Mac users must use a windows computer or the unzip command within the terminal app.

Finally, I got the update to SYNC 2.2 installed. I unzipped the file using Apple's OSx which caused a problem by using a forward slash in the path. I switched to terminal mode and used the command line unzip command which produced and output with the slash's that Window's expects, the backslash.
I felt that I had found the problem when the command line unzip command issued the following warning.
warning: HN1T-14G381-SA.zip appears to use backslashes as path separators
