  1. After driving on the new tune for a couple days, I noticed faster throttle response and shift points, better acceleration and more torque to the wheels. Take off is fast and the wheels chirp going into 2nd and 3rd. The only other mod besides the X4 flash is a K&N highflow filter. Couldn't be happier with the flash results. Can't wait to slap an intake and x-pipe on her and see what difference that makes..

  2. Yesterday, I installed an sct X4 with 87 octane tune on my '11 Sport. Haven't driven it enough to know what my fuel mileage is doing, but it sure is a LOT more fun to drive!

My X4 should be in this week for my 14 Sport. I'm running 93 octane so we'll see what happens.

  3. I was just looking for wheel adaptors/spacers to make my wheels flush with the fender without having to cut my studs, if I want to take them off in the future I don't want to have to deal with now cut studs on my hubs..

  4. I have H&R springs on my BMW, but went with http://www.motorsport-tech.com for my 'ADAPTORS'.This is a company that 'makes 'hub centric' to order adaptors'.

Its very important to know all your specs before ordering. What model Edge do you have, what are the wheel/tire sizes, are you sticking with the stockers? You will most likely have to cut the stock studs flush with the adaptors for the wheel to fit flush with the adaptors. Some aftermarket wheels have divits where the stock studs can fit into, but don't think thats the case on oem wheels, not mine.

I have an 2012 Explorer Limited, with Edge Sport 22'' wheels running 285/40 tires.

The wheels are nine inch wide but were still not flush with the fender. I ordered F 3/4", R 1.0"IMG_2753_zpsmsy0boma.jpeg

So you had to modify your OEM 22" Edge wheels to get the wheels to fit on the spacers or had to modify the hubs? I have a 14 Edge Sport with the same wheels. Either way I wasn't really looking to to have to modify anything significantly. Trying to stick with mostly bolt on parts for when resell inevitably happens.

  5. Yeah, I tried that... Put in my vehicle info and they came back with 1 (ONE) product - a Texas A and M badge... Hehe.. See attached (this is literally the ONLY match for a 2017 Ford Edge).....

What do you mean, you don't want an A&M badge on your car?..

Well the only other thing I could say is measure the length of your badges and order accordingly.

  6. SCT tuner, Unleashed Tuning (Torrie McPhail) should be able to tune your 3.7L. Plus Unleashed's Memorial Day Sale is ongoing ... I am sure Livernois can also tune the 3.7L.

Plenty of people have lowered their Edges with H&Rs (pretty much the only option available), and noted better handling without giving up much if anything in ride quality. You should definitely get an alignment after putting a few miles on to break them in. Note that since ride height IS lowered, be more careful with steep driveways & such to prevent scraping of the undersides. Thankfully no body panel to worry about with the 3.7L.

I've heard of Unleashed before actually, are they in the PA area? Also you said SCT tuner, are you referring to the flash they have available? Or one of their custom tuners?

And yeah, I've driven lowered cars but I've never lowered an SUV, the main reason for getting it being preparedness for snow in these northeast winters, and the luxury and size. That's why I've been on the edge, no pun intended, about getting lowering springs. Makes the vehicle look soooo much better but don't want to sacrifice ride quality or the ability to plow through snow need be. I could always swap back to OEM springs in the winter but I don't want to have to deal with that instal twice a year. But having lowering springs and wheel spacers would give the truck such a mean look..

  7. Do you have a link to the exact part number that you got? That link is just a main page that shows several emblems.. I was looking at those very emblems (nice) but they're all listed as F150/Raptor/Expedition badges.. How did you find the badges for the Edge? I've heard that the Edge uses the same as the F150 for the front (9") but I also heard that the F150 is 9.5".. Also, the F-150 is the same size front/rear but the Edge is 5" rear... It has been frustrating to say the least trying to figure out which badge I need..

Oh, just to be clear - what year is your Edge? Mine is a 2017 - I think the badge changed for the 2015+ model years.. Again, not sure of that..

The way realtruck.com works, is you fill in your vehicle specifications and it gives you parts that specifically fit that model. I have a 14 Sport, mainly because I liked the older body style more than the new, not taking anything away from the new body style, they're still awesome. I also wish my year had an ecoboost option but it didn't so for now I'm working with naturally aspirated. But yeah, fill in your vehicle specs and it will feed you parts that fit your vehicle. The link I sent you is still the link to the emblems I purchased. Defenderworx billet blackout emblems. You have options for a finish as well, but don't forget to fill in vehicle specifications to make sure it fits yours.

Also, I removed the rear badge today and put the new badge on...looks amazing. I'll post before and after pics. All I did was heat it with a hairdryer for about 5/10 minutes then, wrapped a butter knife with a towel to pry it off. Be careful not to scratch your paint. I don't know how it works with the 17, but mine also had little pins on the back to make sure that the badge was lined up, so watch out for that, they weren't clips though just pins. The replacement badge, however, didn't have the pins, only sticky tape.

  8. Sorry I can't help much with the removal question (I have the same question actually). I'm also looking for front and rear blackout badges - could you share where you got/are getting yours from? I'm having the hardest time finding them for the Edge - everyone has F-150s, 250s, etc..

One method I remember reading is using fishing line or dental floss (after getting one edge up). I also read that yes, the rear is adhesive only - no clips or screws (but I can't verify)...

    Thanks!

These are the ones that I got. Gloss blackout emblems.

  9. Hey everyone,

I just ordered new billet blackout badges for the front and back of my Edge. I know to remove the front, I have to drop the bumper and get behind the grille to pop the clips, but for the back, is it just double sided tape holding the badge on or are there screws/clips holding that on as well? I've tried using a heat gun and flat butter knife to pry it off but I don't want to pull any harder with the fear of breaking or cracking something. Has anyone removed their badges and maybe have some advice?

    Thanks!

  10. Ok, so I had a few different questions about a few different topics and figured it would be easier to post them all in one place instead of posting all around the forum and waiting on responses..

First and foremost, I ordered new grille and tailgate billet blackout ford badges for my 14 Edge Sport, I know for the grille, the easiest way is to remove the grille to get behind the emblem and pop the clips, but as for the back, I've tried popping it out and it seems like that too is connected with some sort of clips. Do I need to remove part of the tailgate trim to remove the badge or should it just pop off and I'm not using enough force? I don't want to break or crack anything, hence my hesitation to pull any harder.

Second, for removing the chrome stache below the hood for wrapping, do I need to remove the headlight assembly to get the two side pieces off? I've tried to remove them and have also failed with this.

Third, I've been trying to decide whether or not to buy an ECU tuner but I'm having a hard time finding one that's compatible with the 14 3.7 na. Any suggestions?

Last, I've been thinking about lowering springs but not sure how it will affect stiffness/body roll. Has anyone lowered their edge on h&r springs, and have you noticed a significant difference in handling?

Any suggestions or advice would helpful, and thank you all in advance!
