  1. I don't think that would even be possible. There are some items that you might be able to buy parts for (like the HID headlamps), but most is safety stuff with sensors and software and parts that likely aren't practical to add outside the factory. I could be wrong, but I would think that if they did agree to do this, it would be a lot more than $3400 to retrofit. Here's what the package includes: Equipment Group 401A – Lane-Keeping System, Enhanced Active Park Assist System with Parallel Parking, Park Out Assist, Reverse Perpendicular Parking, and Forward and Side Sensing Systems, front 180-degree camera with washer, HID headlamps with auto high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, heated and cooled front seats, and heated rear outboard seats + Technology Package includes voice-activated Navigation System with pinch-to-zoom capability, and integrated SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link with 5-year subscription; BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert; Remote Start System; auto-dimming driver’s sideview mirror; and 110-volt converter power outlet
  2. All negotiations were done over email. We got to a bottom line price, did an electronic handshake, and I had the car in my possession within a few hours. The dealer is located an hour plus from my house so I wasn't going there without having done the deal ahead of time. I had previously test driven one without the 401a package and another with the package at two more local dealerships that wouldn't negotiate much so I walked. Widened my search area and found this one. Very happy with the sales process and the Edge.
  3. Thanks everyone. I've had her a little over a month now and have about 1100 miles on it. Broken in nicely with around the town driving. Looking forward to getting it out on the open road for a long trip later this summer. I'll have to clean her up and snap some pics to prove my worth :-)
  4. I personally passed on a chance to buy an Edge Sport without the 401a and specifically found a 2016 that included it. It was definitely worth a few thousand more. Between the HIDs and the blind spot system alone it's been worth it, but the cooled seats have been awesome here in the south too. I personally love the 21 inch wheels and don't find the ride harsh at all. But it does limit your tire replacement options. Not too many manufactures make that size tire.
  5. Just wanted to give a thumbs up to a small town Ford dealer in north Georgia -- Jefferson Motor Co in Jefferson GA. All negotiations handled via email with absolutely no surprises upon arrival. After agreeing to the deal, I drove an hour to get to them. My Edge Sport was detailed and ready to go as described, no dealer add-ons or push for add-ons. 30 minutes worth of paperwork and good conversation and I was on my way. They've been in business with the same family since 1922 and now I know why. Would definitely buy another vehicle from them. I have purchased around 10 vehicles in my lifetime and this was by far the best.
  6. Hey everyone. Just thought I'd give a price point for anyone in the market for a new leftover 2016 Sport. There's still a few of them out there in the Southeast at least. Picked mine up yesterday in north GA for right at $35K with the 401a package, panoramic sunroof, and 21" wheels (original sticker of $47,535). Test drove three of them at 3 different dealers before I found the right deal -- two Shadow Black and one Ruby Red. Would have loved the Ruby Red but no 401a = no deal so Shadow Black for me! Put a hundred or so miles on it yesterday and I love it so far. Haven't bought a new car in over ten years so it's like a whole new ballgame. Still trying to figure out all the tech stuff. Would still be driving my 07 Acura TL Type S with 150K on the odo but someone in a Tahoe with bald tires on a wet day had other plans.
