  1. $2k but for how many miles/years?

The 2015 Edge is not without its problems, most are covered under the factory warranty. You could get a feel for what's most commonly reported here: http://m.carcomplaints.com/Ford/Edge/2015/

I took an extended warranty and it's paid for itself. It's amazing how much small simple problems can cost. I had a simple vacuum hose fail, but due to its location, they had to remove the manifold and other parts to reach it. One hose (covered under warranty) would have cost overy $300 to replace.

Think of it in the same view as health or life insurance. It's two grand, but it's nice to know that your protected should anything serious go wrong.

Its called Ford premium care. Its only available on a certified pre-owned from Ford. The quoted price gives 3 years/36,000 miles. They do offer longer periods at higher $$$. I do have the 7 year/100,000 power train (started Jan 2016) as well as the 1year/12,000 comprehensive (just started)

  2. Just bought a certified 2015 Edge SEL AWD with 9800 miles. It comes with a 12,000/1year warranty plus Fords original power train warranty. They offered me additional full warranty package for another $1,900. I'm usually not one to take extra warranties.

So I was wandering your thoughts on this. They said I could take a few days and decide but the price goes up later if i decide to take it. Do most owners really go for this? I never had any kind of major problem with my vehicles. My last was 2005 Acura MDX with 177,000 miles. Only thing I ever did was a timing belt/water pump and some suspension parts. Maybe its different now with these vehicles with all the electronics?
