  1. The issue only happens when I am parked in my driveway......the driveway is uneven so the passenger side about 6 inches higher than the drivers side. I guess this is enough to make it not latch.
  2. Dealer looked at it today when I picked up my Fusion.........could not duplicate the problem, I hate when this happens. It's been working fine ever since I will keep an eye on it.
  3. My Family has purchased seven vehicles from this dealership since 2002. Never had any issues with sales or service over the past 15 years. They are always very professional and courteous. However in the last week I have been lied to by the service department twice. In the first instance the service department lied to me about the repair that was made to my vehicle. I believe the reason they lied is due to the amount of time they had my vehicle (over 24 hours) to preform a fix that should have taken fifteen minutes at the most. The second instance I made an appointment with service department to preform work on my vehicle, even dropped the vehicle off an hour early. They told me it would be ready by the time I got off work. After nine hours in the shop I received a call telling me what was wrong with my vehicle. I informed them I knew what was wrong with the car that is why I made the appointment to have it fixed. When I asked if it was ready for me to pick up, they stated they hadn't had a chance to get to it and that it would not be ready until tomorrow. So they have had two of my vehicles for 24 hours each time for simple repairs any shop could in do in just a few minutes to just a few hours. This is totally unacceptable. Cronin Ford is growing by leaps and bounds (Kia dealership, quick service center, building a used truck center and just acquired a Toyota dealership)but it appears they are forgetting what got them to where they are today; honesty and top notch service. If this continues I will be forced to take my business elsewhere.
  4. Scheduled to go the dealer Monday, I will update post afterwards.
  5. I haven't had this car a week and already going back to the dealer a second time (headlight issue first time. Now the power liftgate function is not working. On YouTube there is a video and ny car is doing the same thing ( however I don't have any cargo in the cargo area or a trailer attached. Here is a link to the video does anybody know could be causing this problem? Thank you in advance.
  6. Thank you for the reply, so do you know where the metal legs come into play? Do I just bend them out if the way?
  7. Ford now charges for cores in headlights, bumper covers, wheels etc., for two reason:first, for environmental concerns (if you believe that) Second, so they can eliminate damaged parts that are refurbished and resold in the aftermarket......the guy on eBay probably wants the core so he can do exactly what Ford is trying to eliminate-refurbish it and sell it on eBay.
  8. Dealer called me back tonight after dinner and informed my car was ready to be picked up-so they had it a little over 24 hours. This is what invoice states: 51FOZ: body electrical c/s: the drivers side headlight not working caused by left low beam inop, perform pinpoint test a, a1-no, a2- no voltage to Lh headlamp assembly, a4 perform on demand test, clear codes retest still no voltage, a5 no, faulty circuit clf04 brown/blue, Trace circuit. Work performed-remove battery junction box and found damaged circuit in fender, remove inner fender liner, repaired circuit clf04 brown/blue harness12a581, retest system, ok, reinstall fender liner and battery junction box. When I asked why they had to do all that work for a light that was working but just needed to be pushed back in the housing, I got crickets. I even showed the "service advisor" what was wrong when when I dropped it off, we both went out and looked at the light and I showed him how it was just not fastened in the assembly, I showed him the light was working fine if you held it in place. I just don't understand why they said they did all this work when that was not the issue. Anyway I got the car back looked at the headlight and it is secure in the housing, but I still have no clue how to remove the light or put it back in should it "pop" out in the future, so if anybody knows how to do this I'm all ears. Thank you.
  9. My edge has been at the dealer since yesterday and I just got a call. They stated the light bulb is still dull even after they switched it. I informed the issue wasn't that the light was dull, the issue is it was not affixed to the housing. If you hold the light in the housing the light works fine, it just won't stay there. His response; after they switched the light, it did not work at all so there maybe something wrong with the ballast???? It is like I'm talking to a wall. At the end of the conversation he said they hope to have it ready by tomorrow......2 days to replace a lightbulb? Really?!?! Again if anybody knows how to get the square hid bulb back in the housing please let me know.
  10. please see the pic. It looks to me as if the square hid light just snaps in place and is secured by the spider leg like springs or clips but I can't figure it out for the life of me.

  12. I'm new to the forum. I just bought a new 2016 Ford Edge Sport , the last 2016 on the lot. On the second day of driving it I noticed my headlights were not very on the drivers side. I popped the hood and removed the round gasket behind the headlight and the light was just sitting in there loosely- doesn't look like it was installed right at the factory. I tried to push it back in but couldn't figure it out. I even look at the passenger side light and still couldn't figure out how to set the light in the housing properly. It literally looks like I'm trying to put a square peg in a round hole. I then checked my owners manual and it is recommended HID lights be changed by the dealer. I called the dealer and I'm going to drop the car off after work, they will provide me a loaner and look at it tomorrow. My question is twofold; does anyone know how to get the light back in the housing? Am I really going to have to take the car to the dealer everytime I need a new headlight? I would be grateful for any help.
