  1. Update: Took it to the dealership for diagnostic. The shop foreman looked at it and couldn't pin point exactly what the issue is but his first instinct would be to take apart the suspension mounting which is held by 4 bolts, I believe I got the right picture below, and see if there are any issues. Not really expensive for parts, just labor. It's not guaranteed to fix the issue because he still doesn't know what the issue is for sure.
  2. The car has 38K Miles. I really don't think it's the shocks because the shocks are not mounted at the same spot as the springs and that's the source of the noise. Well, I thank you all for your input. I think I will roll it in the dealership on Monday for whatever it needs. Was hoping to get an alternative way to fix it. I can do lots of mechanic work myself, but having a spring blow up in my face doesn't interest me. Thank you.
  3. Thanks for the quick replies. The noise is somewhat similar to the one in the first video but it obviously doesn't make the noise when turning the wheel since it's happening in the rear suspension. I don't think it's coming from the shocks. It's definitely coming from the springs. I guess the solution is to change part 7-8-9 on both sides?
  4. Hi everyone, First time posting. I have a really bizarre situation going on my Edge and can't figure out the problem. I have a 2013 Edge SEL AWD. Approximately 1 year ago, my Edge developed an unusual "popping" noise coming from the rear. I removed all the carpets, spare tire, etc and was able to pinpoint where the noise was coming from. It sounds like the metal from the chassis popping directly over where the suspension springs sit. Both sides are doing it when weight is being transferred on or off the rear of the car by turning, going on or off driveways and accelerating from a dead stop. I even had a friend under the car while putting my weight onto the back of the car and he could feel the popping noise when he would put his hand on the springs. What's interesting is, the noise goes away when it's raining or in the winter (living in Canada....it's cold) I had a mechanic check it out and guarantee it was the rear sway bar links. I was skeptical but changed them for Moog links but it didn't do anything. I also tried spraying graphite lubricant up into the springs but that didn't do anything either. I can do a lot of work myself, however, pulling the rear springs isn't something I want to do right now without knowing what the issue is. And it's not a job I'm really interested in doing myself. Has anyone experienced the same issue? Thanks!
