Ok, thats what I figured. Im in belief that the radio is bad as it wont allow me to install the update for SYNC. It says installation completed then says rebooting then verbally says installation failed there may not be enough room or not a valid version.

The EEPROM reset didnt work. It said master reset was completed, but all of the radio resets were still present. After going to the advanced tab and scrolling down and pressing master reset and then clicking continue is how I did the master reset since the above way would not function.

Not sure about a 2017, Im asking about a 2008.

Pulled fuse 38 and made sure it was the correct radio fuse as there is 2 by turning my MKX on. No radio lights at all..turned it off and waited 5 minutes then plugged the fuse back in. Reinstalled English and the navigation dvd, kept my radio presets and the Bluetooth devices. Volume still going up and down on its own. Set volume to max and it audibly gets lower then higher then lower rinse and repeat.

Pull the fuse for the head unit? Thatll make it not work at all..yes?

Everything else regarding the steering wheel controls works fine. The volume will work fine once I turn it up, then it will gradually lower itself, then gradually raise itself back, then graudally lower itself again. If I power cycle the radio it'll come on at the volume it's selected, then gradually lower yet again. Also my subwoofer isn't working. Possibly the amp flaking out?

So my recently purchased (July of 17) MKX has a weird issue. The volume lowers itself.. The automatic speed volume (or whatever it's called) is not turned on whatsoever. Anyone ever experienced this issue and if so did you find out what the issue was caused by? I have the THX system with Sync - 08 MKX

I wish I got 20mpg. I'll get roughly 23-24 on the highway, and 16 city. My MPG on the dash reads 17.9 today after resetting it roughly 1000 miles ago. I use low grade fuel in a relatively flat area and drive light footed. Just recently changed sparkplugs to bosch iridium OE replacements, replaced air filter with OE replacement, and cleaned the MAF.

Is there something that I can unplug that just disables the adaptive headlights? It's not a function I desire. Unfortunately it came on the particular vehicle that I purchased.

So I now own a 2008 MKX in dark blue (not sure of the name of the color). Great vehicle with 1 issue...when the car is in drive and going approximately 10mph both headlamps go as far right as they possibly can. They won't return until the vehicle is stopped. Starting the vehicle the headlamps do the sweep and return to center, stopped or in park I turn the steering wheel and the headlamps do slightly turn in the direction I turn the steering wheel, but they won't function properly while moving. What gives? Anyone ever faced and corrected this issue? disclaimer: I did search, but didn't find anything regarding this specific issue.
