Here is a picture of what the first set of wheels did.
The ones now are a darker type of looking corrosion.
omg!
that is scary,
thanks for sharing

exactly
I am working on 1 right now that is equally as useful, if I can pull it off like I think/hope... it will be a cool new mod
can't wait. . .Lex is the "King"

First real snow and ice experience was a good one. AWD is amazing even with the stock 20" Pirelli Scorpions. Took off the O/D and cruised right along. . .only minor issue was on icy corners, you don't want to give it too much gas, just nice and easy. . .you'll be fine.
I almost bought snow tires a month ago. . .glad I didn't.
Going to get a nice treadmill and work off this spare tire on my body.

. . .short story. . .
had a '72 Impala back in '75
drove it 20k one summer without checking/changing the oil
an idiot light came on one day in the fall
so I took it to the local garage
undid the oil drain plug. . .nothing came out. . .put a flashlight up to the hole,
looked like a solid of some kind. . .put my finger in the hole, pulled it back out and it was covered
with what looked like wheel bearing grease. A can of engine cleaner in the oil and 20 minutes
later it drained. Engine ran fine till we got rid of it several years later. Began changing the oil every 3k after that schooling.
Hard to believe 15k and no oil change would kill a vehicle. . .but things could be different now I guess. :stats:

well, it has always done that.. since day 1. so not sure why it has not for you.
if it has not done that for you then you must have (1) some technical issue needing further investigation or (2) an mp3 player that is not on the tested and approved list here
but, either way, worth getting to find out if it helps you
thanks for the 411
well I guess that explains it. . .I'm using a Sony Walkman NWZ-A816
-
so will this update help the SYNC recognize playlists on my MP3 player?

so if someone uses the famous line, "what are you.. a rocket scientists?" you can actually somewhat say "yes, I am"
on a serious note.. I visited Hiroshima last year, wow... what a place. I learned a heck of a lot, rather humbling experience.
that's me, I prefer saying aerospace engineering. . .nerve-wracking sometimes but a rewarding endeavor

Had a terrible sound this morning. Pulled out of the garage, drove about a 1/10th of a mile, stopped at the stop sign, turned right onto the main road. . . .then all of a sudden. . . .grind, grind, grind noise from the right rear, pulled over to the shoulder placed in park, thought I had caught something under the vehicle. . .nope. . .proceeded another 1/10th of a mile, still making the noise. Stopped and put on the parking brake. Got out looked again this time much closer feeling around the tire and wheel well. . .nothing. Hopped back in drove back home, the noise was getting weaker. Backed in the garage and then got completely underneath the vehicle looking at the drive train and wheels. . .nothing. Hopped back in and started driving up the street, no noise, nothing. I have just over 3K miles on the vehicle. Do you think it may have been a caliper sticking? Sure sounded alot like pads rubbing on the caliper. Your thoughts? Thanks for reading.

yep, a new one with the employee pricing would be the way to go unless you do find a used one that has been pampered. Whatever you do I'm sure you'll be glad you got a MKX. I love mine!

Have you considered purchasing a dash topper? I saw one in a 500 and asked where they got it because it was so nice. Looked like suede, and a very high quality and fit. I checked out their website....see if this might be a better solution for you. The site is:
http://www.dashtopper.com/shop.net/Home.aspx
Check out the suede versions.....really nice!
That Sedona Sueda version looks pretty good and really not that expensive for that amount of coverage. :shades:

so. . .has anyone done the ambient lighting to an Edge or MKX? What colors?

Hi MKx Limited. :D The TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) simply tells the Dealer how to fix a minor problem with the Panoramic Moonroof. It deals with a loose trim piece.
. . .
Thanks for the 411 bbf2530
Good to know there are some very knowledgable individuals in these forums.
-
<snip>. . .
There is a relatively common problem with a rattle in the Panoramic Moon Roof, so pay close attention to that area. If that is the problem, there is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) that the Dealer will be aware of and the fix is an easy one.
. . .
Moon Roof TSB!? I didn't know about that. What's that one? Thanks

how often should this item be changed? miles? time? thanks

I think you should opt for an '09 with the "Brilliant Silver" paint. Wish it had been an option in '08. As for wheels I think anything besides the "chrome-clad" would be good. I saw a Lincoln MKS on the showroom floor with some really nice 20" polished cast aluminum wheels. The window sticker said $685 for the option. I wonder if I can get the dealer to swap???

soon Ford, soon. . .this is absolutely ridiculous
-
when you're backing up try different speeds, if you go really slow the beeps aren't as frequent until you're close to hitting something
-
Let the clicking begin. . .
mine started this past week. Not noticeable unless the driver window is down and your going really slow. . .
I'm not happy about it but hope Ford/Lincoln solve the issue soon

We've had our 2008 edge for 2 weeks now. The first week the radio would attenuate when the reverse sensing beep would come on and it was very easy to hear. Now the radio doesn't attenuate and its hard to hear the beep during reverse. Anyone know if I accidentally messed with a settings?
I think if it's an area you have visited multiple times it is learning. I noticed the same thing after several weeks of backing into the garage, it's like it knows you've been there before. . .
-
What, exactly, is NOT TRUE at all? It's a known problem and they're trying to fix it. Have a little patience. It's not like the engine died or the radio doesn't work.
so if this is a "known problem" will there be a recall or do we need to have defective ones before they are replaced?

I'm sort of picky. . .Did the clay bar to the paint and windows. After waiting a day I did Meguairs NXT 2.0 to the paint and RainX to the windows. Next day it was Zaino Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray and Z-8 Grand Finale Spray Seal for the paint. Microfiber towels the whole time. California Duster used every morning before going out. Z-10 Leather in a Bottle for the interior last week. 303 Aerospace Protectant used on the tires. Debating on what to do to the engine compartment. I had used Pig Spit and F21(aerosol, not pump) on my previous vehicles engine compartments to keep them looking new. 5 weeks into ownership and looking good. Lots of work. . .lots of work. . .but worth it!

or you could go all the way and replace the vehicle with this. . .
