  5. First real snow and ice experience was a good one. AWD is amazing even with the stock 20" Pirelli Scorpions. Took off the O/D and cruised right along. . .only minor issue was on icy corners, you don't want to give it too much gas, just nice and easy. . .you'll be fine. I almost bought snow tires a month ago. . .glad I didn't. Going to get a nice treadmill and work off this spare tire on my body.
  6. . . .short story. . . had a '72 Impala back in '75 drove it 20k one summer without checking/changing the oil an idiot light came on one day in the fall so I took it to the local garage undid the oil drain plug. . .nothing came out. . .put a flashlight up to the hole, looked like a solid of some kind. . .put my finger in the hole, pulled it back out and it was covered with what looked like wheel bearing grease. A can of engine cleaner in the oil and 20 minutes later it drained. Engine ran fine till we got rid of it several years later. Began changing the oil every 3k after that schooling. Hard to believe 15k and no oil change would kill a vehicle. . .but things could be different now I guess. :stats:

  12. Had a terrible sound this morning. Pulled out of the garage, drove about a 1/10th of a mile, stopped at the stop sign, turned right onto the main road. . . .then all of a sudden. . . .grind, grind, grind noise from the right rear, pulled over to the shoulder placed in park, thought I had caught something under the vehicle. . .nope. . .proceeded another 1/10th of a mile, still making the noise. Stopped and put on the parking brake. Got out looked again this time much closer feeling around the tire and wheel well. . .nothing. Hopped back in drove back home, the noise was getting weaker. Backed in the garage and then got completely underneath the vehicle looking at the drive train and wheels. . .nothing. Hopped back in and started driving up the street, no noise, nothing. I have just over 3K miles on the vehicle. Do you think it may have been a caliper sticking? Sure sounded alot like pads rubbing on the caliper. Your thoughts? Thanks for reading.
  13. yep, a new one with the employee pricing would be the way to go unless you do find a used one that has been pampered. Whatever you do I'm sure you'll be glad you got a MKX. I love mine!
  14. That Sedona Sueda version looks pretty good and really not that expensive for that amount of coverage. :shades:
