Hang in there, we're 1-2 Wks from completion for design development, fitment, fabrication and install.

    The options will be:

    - 2.5 downpipes with Hi-Flow Cats

    - 2.5 downpipes without Cats

    - With o2 bungs

    - Ceramic coating heat management in a selection of basic colors

    Notes:

    - The pipes will come tapered to bolt up to the stock exhaust Sys.

    - A special order will be required to have it match up to a complete 2.5 exhaust system.

In a effort to reduce fabrication lead times it would help if we could get some idea of those interested so please chime in here soon...:ford:

I’ve been out of the loop for a while but very happy to see you have continued your hard work with the mods.  I’d probably be in to buy one but if I’m going to do that, I want to get a 2.5” catback to go with it.  Any suggestions?

  2. Guy making them for Fusion Sports right now, all god reviews. Im gonna have to pass which sucks, so Im currently looking for a guarenteed sale of someone who can drop this money and get the ball rolling. Its not $500 like CPe but its also not 1600 like the aFe either and temps are drastically down on fusion sports

Just the IC and no pipes?

  3. Also, anyone willing to spend $900. To be experiment for an intercooler? Fusion Sports are already running these, just need to confirm Edge fitment, measurements are done. Just need a risk taker (this is pending the wife says hell no when I plea my own case for it)

Let me get back and settled and I will do it, if I can return it if it doesn't work.

I think it's time for me to jump on the machine and start designing a system for this engine. With the amount of people we have here we can Def mock up one for our Edge with parts already out there, all we would need is an adapter bracket.

I'm going to be installing a hitch, lowering spring, and air bags this weekend. Let me see how the layout is for the IC and air filter and get back to yall.

  5. SJCabose,

A performance IC & true CAI Sys would be totally awesome & GREATLY appreciated by many!... :hat_tip:

At the moment those are our two major sticky points, of course more will follow as we knock out the big ones...

I totally agree and personally want the IC more than the CAI. Not to be greedy, but if you could mock up a rear motor mount/torque damper too, that would be great!

You can get . H&R lowering / handling sport springs. Custom tunes from Livernois and others. Big Brake kits from Rotora. Aftermarket tires and wheels 20, 21and 22 inch. Someone here added a Oil Vapor Catch Can. Window tints. Custom Wraps. Strut Tower Brace. MRT true duel Axel Back Exhaust and mufflers. K&N replacement filters and Dry Filters. There might be a few others but that is a good list to start with.

BOV and 160 or 170 tstat.

  7. Looking down the road logistically... :stirpot:

Special K & I are working with BNR for R&D to come up with better performing bolt on turbos... :clapping:

BNR has many years of ecoboost turbo development and is willing to take this on... :number1:

However they require a donation of one from each bank.

Pricing & availability will come after the R&D process... :2thumbs:

Watch out Bishop you won't know what hit you...3 N a group from 300 yds... :sos:

Oh @#$! is getting real now. Getting called out by name too.

I will be ready for a turbo upgrade after the intercooler, turboback exhaust, cold air intake, and motor mount upgrades lol.

  8. In my 2014 Focus ST I had to removed the shutters when I upgraded the intercooler. As far as I remember, it did not cause any problems removed. Might have had to clear a code the first time but not even sure about that. If drilling out the grill didnt work though, I am not sure removing the shutters will help. The quest to find an adequate FMIC continues...

  9.

Thanks, it may look good but it was a dud, and there is no need to try it again. . What is a FMIC? As for the intake temperature , I have no idea before or after the hack.

Front mounted intercooler. With an upgraded intercooler, intake air temp won't really matter because the intercooler will remove the heat, often within 10 degrees of ambient at highway speeds, and your CAI will no longer be a dud. Stock intercooler doesn't have the capacity to do it. It is a very common and important upgrade when you increase boost pressure and very unfortunate that there is not a performance FMIC on the market for the Edge (there are other threads on this... a couple of options might be in the works). Still though, I would be curious to see some empirical data on what that hack does to temps. I am probably going to do it either way though. I will take the silver welded piece from your CAI off your hands if you don't want to do anything else with it ;)

  10. Last I heard on this, cp-e is making a RMM for the 2017 Fusion Sport. Should be coming out in a few weeks. They said their R&D will contact us for a test fit on the Edge Sport when it is ready. Keep your fingers crossed.

I think you are talking about something like this? attachicon.gifXtra’s Xperiment.jpg I built this first before the hack.
Trouble was the under hood air temp is off the chart. It was a big fail and I had to return back to the stock configuration.

Yes that is exactly what I am talking about! Looks great... have you tried it again since the hack or do you think it will need an upgraded FMIC?

Also, do you have any data on air intake temps before and after the hack?

  12. Totally agree with all points Xtra & thnx 4 chiming N, I'll let U know should we need 2 take U up on the offer... :hat_tip:

Per your concern of water intrusion under all normal & extreme weather conditions, aside from traversing flood waters up to the intake, you'll B fine...

2 boot, there R drain holes N the bottom of the intake box... :victory:

BTW, how about some instruction on placing Pics with their relevant paragraphs... :banghead:

Root57, R U onboard should we need your services that Xtra described?..

So far we've done an R&D tear down & here R the initial research Pics... :camera:

Note: This is going 2 take some time, if it works at all, so B patient peeps, we do have full time jobs & this isn't it... :salute:

At this point you might as well make a full custom CAI. You aren't that far off. 2 little couplers to the stock flex pipe thing, 2 K&N filters, mod the bottom of the box to support the weight. Bada bing, bada boom!

Yea sure, I can create a CAD model of whatever you need. I just need to know exactly what you want. You want to create an extension to the current intake to duct in air coming directly in from the grille? Once I know what you want, I can take some measurements off mine and get started on a CAD model. I order all kinds of parts from rapid prototyping companies on a regular basis so I am very familiar with the available processes, materials, and costs. Just do your best to explain exactly what you want to make and we'll go from there. Here is a screenshot of a model I just made really quick as an example, only took me a few minutes to create this basic shape. But technically I could upload this to a rapid prototype or 3D printing company such as Protolabs and get it quoted, ordered, and delivered within like 4 or 5 business days. I'll do some research into what material options will withstand heat the best.

Love this idea... any updates on this?
