Some of us have added quad tips to extend the exhaust pipes. The tips can be installed on stock or aftermarket exhaust systems. As far as I know no one has done this to an ST yet. These are 3inch tips in the photo. I swapped them out for

3 1/2 inch tips and they look much better.  3 1/2 inch quad tips are what I recommend if you decide to do this. There is a thread on this subject here someplace for more info

Yeah I was going to do this on my Edge Sport before it got rear ended and written off (while parked), but I don't think this will work on my ST quite the same since they are now vertical cutouts.

  2. Ah, that looks better than I expected, it actually sits into the bumper pretty far.

I don't know if it would make much difference adding tips then, apart from looks.

I never really liked the stock exhaust housing and wish we just had tips sticking out like the Edge Titanium and Explorer Sport/ST etc.

I plasti-dipped mine to get rid of the chrome and it looks better, but still not great.

Great! Now I'll ask the usual question...what gains are they getting from a stock ST? ?

Unless I missed it I haven't seen anything posted, looked on site too. Seen your  results on your sport and they look good but far from stock.

    Curious on this as well.

Everything shown so far has been on an Edge Sport, what about the ST? ?

  4. Those look better than I expected. I might order some in Red with Black ST lettering.

How hard was the install, and obviously it still brakes the same with them on correct?

How close are they to the inside of the rim when they are on?

    Thanks!

  5. I think the MRT also ends at the stock location and doesn't stick out, but theirs doesn't seem to drone too bad from the interior video that they posted.

If/When I replace my exhaust I will definitely get tips to extend it outside - not really a huge fan of the stock exhaust housing.

  6. Got the chance to drive around a bit after the TSB was performed and I can already tell that the shifting is much better than it was before.

Shifts are smoother, it seems to pick the right gear more often, and it even feels quicker in D now than it did before.

I always felt D was too lazy and had poor throttle response compared to S but now they are much closer.

  7. I would definitely recommend an oil catch can/separator.

These are Direct Injection, not Port Injected, so there will be oil vapours coking the back of the intake valves.

A ton of us on here use them and the JLT is probably your best bet for the price, quality and ease of use.

  8. Posted in the other thread but it's relevant here too;

I had the fix done today and confirmed that it works now.

I haven't checked the settings yet to see if the option is there but will do that and report back.

What I noticed was odd was that under "Cause" the service department put "19S11AA - Disable Engine Block Heater Cord".

  9. Had the dealer perform the TSB today.

They took it for a test drive and confirmed shifting issues, the TSB was updated and they confirmed the repair with another test drive.

I noticed it was better on my drive home, but that was in traffic for only 20 minutes so haven't really given it a proper test yet, but so far so good.
