It gas vapors that are causing the pump to cut off. If you pump the gas slowly it will take more gas the first time. As I understand it the fast you pump the gas the more you vaporize the gas. Also I am told that the pump nozzle has way of allowing gas vapors back thru (after its been metered) to the underground storage tank. The long story short is the faster you pump the less you get (you pay the metered amount but get less). Also try to buy gas in the early morning, cool temp equal less gas expansion. The above will save some money

I would say Ford has solved the issue with updated PCM programing. Worked for us.

My dealer reprogramed the PCM and our random issue solved

Changing the tranny in that situation sounds fishy (factory trained tech should check the fluids first) . We had a small transmisson issue on our (wife's) Edge. The transmission jerk once at low speed between gear up shift randomly. There was not a pattern to the issue (one day it jerk once, the next not at all). We took it into the dealer just to have them look this issue and they chose the reprograming of PCM solution. Sofar no jeking from the Edge

As I see, mpg varies based on many factors. Our Edge gets okay gas mileage, its definetly not Prius or any other gas econ car. Our MPG number are as follows: 1st fill-up: 18.3 mpg 2nd fill-up: 19.1 mpg 3rd fill-up: 19.6 mpg 4th fill-up: 20.8 mpg 5th fill-up: 20.5 mpg On the first fill-up the vehicle calcuated mpg was off by 1.1 mpg vs hand calculations. Now that we are on the fifth fill-up the vehicle calcuated mpg is spot on.

I have a Dune Pearl SEL Plus also, but its not AWD.

I use Simple Green diluted with water (1:10) or greater. My local Adams polish rep. suggested its use.

If you car came wired with SAT radio; how can one find the "SID number?

The free gas is basically two fillups (free is free). Our time to setup the deal was in three parts. 1.) Internet research to narrow down Edge vehicles choices (two at different dealers) dealer stock. 2.) Get the other dealer to tell us what he'll sell an Edge for (30 min. test drive). 3.) Visit the dealer who has the Edge we like the most and start the process. I felt walking in with potential deal with other dealer to be a good way to say "I am buying a vehicle, its up to you to convince me to buy here." The overall deal making at Part 3 took about 2.5 hours (mainly because I was talking loan guy about life stuff). I state all the above to say this, their are many way to buy a vehicle and this is the way I chose. I am quite sure other have haggled better deals and I am cool with that. I learn from every situation, next time I'll do better.

My wife and purchase our 07 Edge SEL plus that had a MSRP of $33,130 (loaded) on St. Pats day. We walk in with the printed web invoice ($31,382) for all the Edges on there lot and started from that point. We end up with the following: 1). $200 under vehicle invoice ($31,382-200 = $31,182) 2). High value for our trade 3). 12 months of free basic maintenance. 4). Free gas 5). Ford Credit low APR financing (0.9% on 36 months, 1.9% on 48 months or 2.9% on 60 months) We also walked into that dealership with competeing offer from another dealer and told them the offer. They tried hard to beat and did after a couple of hours. It takes time. Usually the longer it takes to get a deal the better it is for you (hours).

My Edge came with SAT radio enabled, but I was not informed of the account code for my radio or anything. Will I recieve a subscription renewal in the mail?

I'll just have to wait to see what MPG I actullay get, but for now the info center 18 MPG (< than 200 miles on the clock).
