I have this odd noise coming from the rear end, its hard to describe, but it's not a squeak. It almost sounds like the exhaust is swaying and bumping into some other part of the car (like a hollow tapping noise). It happens when I drive over an uneven bump or go over a speed bump at an angle and I hear the bump/tapping noise once or twice then it stops when the suspension finishes damping out. I posted this here because I only noticed it recently and the last work I had done was the sway bar install. I had the rear wheels off last weekend and none of the rear suspension components seem to be loose or broken or anything. The car seems to be driving/handling fine too. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what this might be? Kind of driving me nuts now! :gaah::shrug:

I have this 'Bonk' also..coming from the rear end also. Started about 2 weeks after I had the Bar installed.I can not get under the car to take a look because the H&R Springs have made it impossible to get my fat head under the car to take a look...Did you figure out what is causing yours Roots?

2.

The Atturo AZ850 tires I have now are a decent low-cost performance tire in 21", I'm pretty happy with mine so far with just about 10k on them now. Will be buying again for sure, they are a fraction of the cost of 21" Pirelli's (about $125 per tire compared to $300+)

I second roots57 recommendation for the Atturo AZ 850'S...Im running mine at 38psi and once you get 'em heated up they become nice and 'grippy'..They are HP Summer tires, so bear that in mind if you have to deal with cold winters.

**** I just remembered that I had the dash cam on while the car was serviced and I have reviewed the Memory Card. Total time including a test drive was 63 min.

The Ford book says 1 and a half hr for the job around $200. So you should pay anywhere from $125 to $200.

Mine took two hours to do. With a baby sleeping I did not turn on my large 60gal air compressor so it was all hand tools. That was from the time I pulled into my garage till the time I pulled out. I think I could do it in a hour if I did it again with air tools.

Thanks guys...good to know

4. The sway bar is between 1.127 and 1.130 inch diameter so that would require the 28 to 30mm or 1 and 1/4 inch lateral lock. I like the idea and I am going to order some for my car. A super easy and lightweight fix . Great find veener79 :victory:

Alloy high performance lateral locks are designed to maintain Swaybar centralization.

1. Once you have your Swaybar in position and central with links attached,

attach the lateral locks next to the mounting bush (leave approx 3-4mm gap).

This can be either side of the mounting bush but its best to aim for the most accessible area on the Swaybar. If there is little room to physically tighten the lateral locks, it may be best to mark your Swaybar then remove from vehicle then attach the lateral locks prior to fitment.

2. Tighten the lateral lock bolts down evenly and use mild force to secure.

Great Post Extra...Thanks for the post and Link.

Note : Please don’t over tighten.

3. After test driving the vehicle, recheck Swaybar position and adjust lateral locks if necessary.

5. My CC just got charged from ADDCO for my bar, it should be here within a week!! keep a look out for yours if you are in this buy too! Now I just have to decide which setting to go with first, stiffer or stiffest... :headscratch::idea:

Mine just got the charge posted too..so things are happening...I might hold off on fitting the bar until some feedback comes in from other forum members re. which setting to go with..I will be paying a shop to fit mine so I want to make sure I get it right first time.

6. Update on Atturo AZ 850's : I put 4 of these tires on my Edge (21") on the recommendation of forum member Roots57 back in January..I liked them, seemed to be a great deal for $525 delivered. Up here in the SF Bay Area where I live the weather has been fairly mild up until the beginning of this month, we have just started to get some sustained hot weather in the 75 - 85F range...This has brought about a serious improvement in the performance of the Atturo's..Lateral adhesion is greatly improved, braking distance is better and the tire just seems to have more 'bite' overall. Not surprising really - it is sold as a HP Summer tire. So the upshot here is if you want these tires to perform.....ya gotta get some heat into 'em.

7. Hang in there everybody, I know it's painful however if you understood more about the custom manufacturing industry you'd appreciate a few weeks/months waiting period as opposed to the normal 1-2 years.

This is a high quality stabilizer manufacturing Co that backs their product and it should say something when some of the big race circuits i.e. Summit & Lime Rock place mass Qty requests. :worship:

We're fortunate that ADDCO is even entertaining our unique niche...

This wait is comparatively short and well worth it, just the other night I was able to controllably drift an entire round about so well that Tanner & Ken would have been proud... :hat_tip: Copy that!...Im impressed that you were able to get this thing happening without a minimum order of 50 or 100..

Just imagine a video with Tanner or Ken using an Edge Sport doing a Gymkhana run through the streets of San Francisco...ROFLMAO!!! :hysterical:happy%20feet.gif:clapping:

8. I don't think Ford Performance specifically supported anything on the Edge. They closed out and quit supporting the 3.5 Eco Boost last summer. They were selling them off at the best deal I'd ever seen from Ford Performance. It was like 30% off and they threw in the control pack for nothing. I've asked and gotten no answer to future plans.

Just my opinion but I'm not a big fan of Bilstein but it shouldn't be too difficult to find performance shocks for your car.

Edgeowner....Believe it or not there is NOTHING available for the Edge Sport. I've tried everywhere and no luck....

Koni, Bilstein, kyb etc.,...nothing.

9. With illegal tint, its luck of the draw, the legal limit is usually not enough for most peoples liking. I just tried to match the front to the rear windows as close as possible, I've done this on all my cars and have never gotten a ticket (knock on wood). I've certainly heard of others getting fix-it-tix though. Almost all the cars I see here with aftermarket tint are too dark, and in SoCal there are tons of cars like this. Safety in numbers I guess. For the most part, its probably a ticket they give out if you are being an A$$ to the cop and he/she is looking for stuff to add on. The first thing I always plan to do if I get pulled over is roll the windows down all the way, be polite, and hope they don't ask about them, or my lack of a front license plate B)

I also got a ticket for no Front Plate on a previous car...Problem is you can not get a single plate from the DMV to replace the missing front..you have to re-register the car and get a completely new reg. number! Hows that for dumb beurocracy!
10.

Just had the front windows tinted with 35% Nano Ceramic tint. DUB-R tint is what I chose because of the way it keeps the IR and UV out. I compared different manufactures tint samples over a heat lamp and this DUB-R Nano Ceramic tint was amazing at keeping the heat out. As the roof of the car is glass I had the BAMR tinted as well with 70% just to keep the inferred and UV out as much as possible . The summer gets very hot here in So Cal and I could tell the difference compared to the tint I had removed. The cabin is more comfortable and the AC works better now. I no longer feel the suns heat on me through the glass.

Hope you dont get a ticket for tinted windows..I got a 'fixit' ticket for having my side windows 15% tinted. Had to take it back to the shop and have it all scraped off.
