No wire cutting required. It was the right part. After taking it apart again, the arm that goes from the latch to the knob that pops up and down when you lock the door was contacting the side of the latch mechanism. So it either got bent during the Change or the new part is thicker than the original.

I recently replaced the door latching mechanism to quiet the door ajar issue. Now the drivers door wont lock at all, but the others do. Any suggestions?
