  1. Well we will be heading to the local dealer to view a couple of their 2017 models and see if we can come to a deal on one. I came across a good deal on a 2018 but it is about 300 miles away from me so how much of a discount would you guys consider to be great to get you to purchase a 2017 if both are equipped the same?
  2. Shopping around for a new Edge SEL with the V6. From my understanding the V6 model does not have the auto stop/start feature and it's not a direct injected engine and both of those are things I want. Are there any differences between a 2017 and 2018? My local deal has not received any 2018 Edge's yet, they still have a few 2017's on the lot. The SEL's with the V6 they have all have leather interior which is something I really wasn't wanting but don't mind it either if I can get a good deal. Should I be able to get a better deal on a 2017 compared to a 2018 if they are both equipped the same? Seems like there are more rebates on the 2018 models. Here is the current pricing they have listed online at the dealer. MSRP Before Discount $38,805 Package Savings - $600 MSRP $38,205 Bonus Customer Cash - $1,000 Customer Cash - $2,000 Dealer Savings - $2,705 With Available Savings $32,500 There are few more rebates but not sure if I will qualify for them. Looks like I might qualify for the $1,000 off if I finance through Ford and they have 0% interest up to 72 months if I'm reading it right. I'd like to get this Edge as far under 30K as possible before TT&L. What do you guys think?
  3. Well that MKX I was looking at is Sold already so back to the drawing board. All these Direct Injected engines seem like problems down the road with carbon build up and we would really like to be able to buy something and keep it for a long time. Not interested in always having a car payment and don't have the money to just buy one outright. I came across a new 2017 Edge SEL with the V6 about 6 hours away from me priced down to $20,596. Seems like a good price. Going to contact them about it and see what I can do.
  4. I came across a 2017 Lincoln MKX Premiere with about 4K miles priced at $31,998. It's about 3 hours away from me so not that easy to go take a look at it. Been looking at some of the Edge's that come with a V6. Found one SEL with cloth interior for about $27,295 and a few SEL's with leather starting at $30K and up. Local dealer has a few 2017 SEL's with leather and the V6 but want around $32K.
  5. Also, considering going the V6 route instead of the Ecoboost.
  6. Is the SEL model worth the extra $$$ compared to the SE model?
  7. Trying to keep cost down due to being about 3K upside down on the current MKX.
  8. Thanks. So I was doing some reading and just noticed that they come with auto start-stop. I don't know too much about this feature but I have driven a vehicle (Chevy Cruze) that had it and I absolutely hated it. It felt so weird when it would go into action at the stop lights. This is something that might steer me away from the Edge but won't know until we actually drive one. Do all of the Edge models have the auto start-stop feature?
  9. Any idea what a dealer usually charges to add it?
  10. Thanks for the info. It looks like remote start is not on this SEL, can it be installed? Remote start is something we would really like to have if possible. I know there are aftermarket kits available but I would imagine that they would void the warranty of the car if something happened correct?
  11. We currently own a 2009 MKX with 103K miles. It's currently in the shop right now dealing with an anti-theft issue not allowing the car to start and it has been there since December 20th so got me thinking of trading it in for a new Edge. Looking at an SEL model to help save money. The ones I've looked at online all have the EcoBoost 4 cylinder engine. I know nothing about this engine so can you fellas fill me in on it. Is it a good to go engine for the long haul? I'd like to keep this vehicle for 10+ years if possible. Also, would I have to purchase the extended warranty through the dealer I purchase the car from or can I shop around from other dealers? Local dealer has ridiculous prices for their warranty plans.
