Mine had 135,000 on it. The replacement engine has 29,000.

Thanks for the replies. Got a recommendation from a friend I trust for a local mechanic. Going to do a used engine for 2500 parts and labor. He said that includes new plugs seals and other surrounding bits that should be replaced when using a used engine. Sounds pretty reasonable.

Thanks for the advise. Greatly appreciated. That is significantly cheaper than what I was quoted. I could do that a couple times and still be better off than doing it at the dealer.

Yeah, they quoted me a remanufactured engine. Total estimate was for $7400. A bit more than I can shell out at the moment. Not something I have the skill/equipment/tools to do myself unfortunately. Just trying to figure out what to do.

So, I just learned from the dealer that my 2011 Edge needs a new engine. Apparently the water pump blew up and there is coolant in the oil. The estimate is pretty high. I live in Lawrence, KS. Car is in Topeka at the moment. Anyone know anywhere near I might get a better estimate with good service? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Allen
