Just wanted to post a picture of my head unit upgrade for my MKX. Factory equipment was the Navigation Unit with THX Sound System. I went with a Clarion MAX685BT and Pioneer TS-A6882 4-ways all around. Clarion has one of the best ipod integrations around, not to mention their stuff is quality. The pioneers were recommended by a crutchfield advisor (finding good speakers is such a crap shoot nowadays). I've had infinity's in the past and I am no longer a fan. These pioneers already match the bass of the stockers and go louder without distorting. Can't wait to hear them when they're broken in.

If anyone needs help with their MKX let me know...

Oh yeah I also realized the MKX THX Sound System has different speakers than the Ford Edge Premium System.

Sheesh I never thought of that, I soldered almost all of the connections for my aftermarket head unit for that harness.. I guess I just wanted things to come out clean if I sold the car, but now that I think of it I should just cut the wires and save some money.

To those of you who upgraded your door speakers, did you need a speaker harness to do the install? I know this may vary by speaker brand, so if you could also mention your speaker brand and if you used a harness. Thanks!

I see HID bulbs on sale for ebay that say they are direct bulb replacements. Does anyone have these? I'd rather not install a whole kit with the ballast and whatever else is needed for HID.

Anybody know the pro's and cons with using these? Here's what I'm talking about:

I was really surprised, but an MKX with 22" rims and 40 profile tires can handle business in the snow.
