The brochure is fairly meaty - lots of big pics, many needing two pages. Interesting that every exterior shot shows an Edge with a BAMR. One very major disappointment - for a vehicle that needs to be seen as competing with Hyundai and Mitsu, the warranty is only 3yrs / 60k.
I think it's 5 years/50K, at least in the US.

The thing that sucks is if you notice the wording "9 speakers in 5 locations" means the tweeters are built in the lower speaker position and not seperate up in the sail panels like the fusion and other cars. I don't know if there is room up in the sail panel for tweeters or if it was a cost cutting move.

Someone with an MSN account needs to report each one that is offensive. There is a link to click at the bottom of each review. These people are just trying to cause problems before the vehicle is even out. Some idiot even said the door fell off of one. WTF?

People are starting to go to first aid for restrictions. Jobs are overloaded and ergonomics hasn't even been addressed yet. Leaders are on the line rather than doing a leaders job. There are many issues with this vehicle that management knows about and walks away from.
They aren't shipping anything until mid-November. Also, there is a problem with the AWD units. It is a vendor problem and they haven't sent anything to our repairmen on how to fix it. Perhaps they don't know how to fix it. I would buy the extended warranty though if I were you. First years are always fraught with recalls with subsequent models being better built with less defects. Now if we would get the manpower to produce these vehicles.....
All you guys do on here is complain about this or that, like it will help the situation. Instead of being so negative about everything, let's think positive. This vehicle could be the best thing that has happened to Ford in along time. This consistant negitivity does not make things better, nor does it look good for the customer. Let's figure out how to make things better.

You can get the entertainment system as a dealer installed option with the vista roof. There are pictures somewhere on the web of it. It's actually pretty cool, each headrest gets it's own LCD panel.

Try looking at and/or cleaning the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor), IAC (Idle air control valve), or the MAF (mass air flow sensor).
TPS is located on the intake on the throttle body. IAC is attached near the throttle body on the upper intake. MAF is located in the intake hose after the air filter.

I know it's a 9 speaker system (including one subwoofer in the rear cargo area) so 2 speakers per door. 290watts I believe (the "premium" system is around 80 watts). I am not sure about speaker locations, and I have not seen any pictures of the speaker area that shows a seperate tweeter. Maybe someone that builds these things can chime in....

I was thinking we may have seen some commercials for the Edge this last weekend. Since it's now October I thought the advertising push would begin. Does anyone know what the marketing plans are for TV/print media and when they will begin? I saw the MKX in a Lincoln commerical - they show it for about 2 seconds, but it was an all Lincoln commercial, not model specific.

I was thinking the same thing. I am suprised the car magazines (Car and Driver, Motor Trend, etc.) have not had their "first drive" articles on the Edge yet. They had one on the new Mazda CUV already.....

I wonder what the take rate is going to be with the pan-roof? Does anyone who what other CUV's offer it?
Ford calculates 40% take rate on their product mix page (available on SEL model only). It's the first in the industry made by Wabasto corp.

It appears that pricing has now been released. The Build & Price for Edge no longer has statement about it being "Survey" pricing. Check it out...
Well the site did change, but it isn't in their "mainstream" build and price and still says options and prices can change.

So they upped the base price a little bit but lowered the option prices so the sticker comes out to be $35,030 before and 34,425 now. That's great that the price dropped. Compare the Vista Roof price on the MKX to the Edge. The same roof on the MKX is almost $2,000.

For the people who build these things, what brand of tires are they putting on them? I heard hankook's for the 17" and continental's for the 18".

The only thing I can think of is they are still trying to firm up the package prices because they made the safety equipment (side curtain and advancetrac) standard and it was optional on their website. But I don't think it's usually this long to get pre production pricing for people that want to pre order.

Anyone have any details on pricing yet? I work for a Ford dealer and when we spec one out, it does not show up pricing yet. I would think it should be updated soon, since they are going to job1 in about a month.....
