This just happened to me yesterday morning. I was advised by a friend to look for other folks that had same issue, low and behold! So my car 2016 Ford Edge SEL that I keep in great condition (picky owner) was in my garage, locked. I drove it on Sunday, no problems and used the rear hatch to unload groceries on Sunday - no issues on Sunday. Monday morning open garage door to head to work and there it went - the rear window was shattered. According to the auto glass shop and auto body shop - the notes online to fix the rear window are not easy because of the spoiler needing to be removed which normally gets broken in the process. This means a new spoiler. My estimate is at $2059 right now, $845 for the spoiler (slim chance they can save one on car) and $650 for window rest is other parts and labor. Ford does need to fix the design of the car to avoid spoiler issues and figure out why rear window shatters. Anyone have luck with warranty or Ford?
