Thanks! When you say connect to the factory wiring, do you mean the 6.5 wires? If that's a full range signal, then that's how I'll go.

You may not have to update the usb's. My 2016 just needed the software update from Ford. Download it to a USB, plug it in and let it load.

Hey all, I scored a set of alpine type x's for a great price. Now the questions. I got the door panels off ok, but I'm curious about the components. Should I: A. Cut the wires and just splice in the new components into the old wiring? B. Is there a single input that I could use the alpine crossovers for? If so...a little help on the wires needed? Thanks!

I just picked up a 16 last week. As long as it already has sync 3 and the usb plugs glow light blue, you can update the software via USB to be able to utilize carplay and android auto. It's a super easy process.
