  1. This post along with a video I found helped me out a ton with this issue. Hoping it's gone for good, or atleast for now and if it happens again I'm gonna do the exact same thing. Had the same issue, sloshing sound from my passenger side, that weird hissing noise ONLY when I turned left with my AC on from my passenger side. I first thought something was hitting against my tire as I turned. Thankfully found this thread when I googled it. Used a can of compressed air from Walgreens Got to the hose, removed it from the nipple, blew air down the white nipple peice and nothing came out from under my car, then blew air up the black hose. Got a few drops, blew some more air and then the water started coming out like a faucet. Got about half a gallon of black water out of there, maybe a bit more. Had little debris in it, a couple little pieces of leaf twigs. Sprayed more air and nothing came out. Hoping this is fixed, especially that hissing sound when I turn left. If it's still there imma guess I'll need a new fan motor or something that I can't do myself (not a mechanic) but hopefully that's the end of it. Going to place a new cabin air filter in aswell. Haven't updated that since I got the car December 2018(2011 Ford edge Limited) Seriously though, really appreciate this thread. Guarantee a mechanic would've easily charged me $100 to do this.
  2. Does it kind of sound like an RC Car/ windup toy car noise? ( Ya know the ones you pull back and you hear that little windup noise as you pull the car back on it's wheels before you let it go?) I have a 2011 edge at 149k ( a little older and more broken in, I know. so our issues may differ alot) but I felt I'd post cause I'm not getting any hits on my post, and the "drone/humming noise" sounds similar to what I may be hearing. Brought it to a mechanic and was told my driveshaft, asked other edge drivers and at first they assumed the PTU but I'm not having any issues that come along with a PTU failure. Just this noise that sounds like an RC car when I drive which came along last week after a rain storm. It doesn't make any noises when I'm in park and rev, nothing in neutral when I rev. only when driving, I even tried switching to neutral and revving while coasting and still the noise stayed at the same pace with my turning wheels. It only increases as my wheels increase in speed and vice versa. But was told my driveshaft could be the issue as it is all worn down, and the mechanic could see no other problem. I'm PRAYING that's it ( your vehicle is 5 years newer with alot fewer miles but maybe the sound you're hearing is like this?)
  3. Serious question, just curious. I've heard it makes so many different things/sounds, whines, clanging noises all types of things. Does it cause your car to stall? if you hear it "whining" is it already dead. Is it a whine on just acceleration, does it match the speed of your wheels? I have this issue that started a day ago, not clanging (nails in a can) no whine noise, no leaks, no smell but my car sounds like a wind up toy/RC car as I accelerate. Intensifies as I increase speed. Sometimes it dissipates , but other times it's very noticeable After going in and mentioning maybe the dreadful PTU?????‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️ or what I thought was maybe the power steering pump complaining. I was told my driver's side ball joint and new driveshaft bringing it Monday, but I'm nervous if it's a misdiagnosis i do have a few front end clunks that have recently started, so I do know my driveshaft needs repair/replacing and struts are next. I'm just wondering though what EXACTLY does a failing/failed PTU sound like?
