based on the parts picture, it doesn't look like it's bolted on, but for sure those pins would prevent running a fishing line Or floss across to remove the adhesive.

Those two long pins actually have 10mm nuts that’s screw onto them and hold the emblem on. I removed the rear finally. Here is a vid of the removal

Not sure, but I thought the rear Ford Emblem was mounted with double sided tape, something along the 3M type? with tabs to help with alignment.

Not on 19s. I have tried to use the fishing line, and although there was some Adhesive holding it on edges, there is definitely two mounting points towards the middle. I tried to use a plastic pry tool with no avail. I’m convinced I have to remove that panel to get the emblem off. I will know tomorrow when i disassemble it all

You may never change them then. The Edge community is not big into aftermarket support. So Companies dont really invest much due to lack of return. It took me over 2 years of monthly emails to get H&R to make springs for 2nd gen Edge. Eibach used to make springs for 1st gens and stopped cause nobody was buying. Steeda used to make sway bars but stopped for same reason. I doubt you will see another spring from a big name brand. Coilovers from Fusion work also. With that said. My Edge Sport has lowering springs and rear motor mount and my wife has been primary driver for most of the 2 or 3 years its been lowered. She has never complained about the ride and she thinks modding cars is stupid and a waste of money (included that to show she is not used to riding lowered vehicles)

yeah that’s what I’m starting to realize. I knew that would be an issue when I realized how little forums there are for the Edge. Luckily there is this one and some FB groups for info. Good to know about your wife’s opinion of the ride. My wife feels the same way about modding and she will be the primary driver of this vehicle once things normalize. For now, I drive it to the store for provisions when need be.

  4. Good info. Just bought the wife a ‘19 ST a couple weeks ago and am curious about lowering. Wife is worried she won’t like the ride, I didn’t realize Ford did a heavier spring on ST than the Sport. I too will wait for an ST specific spring and until the stock ones need to be replaced. Thanks for the info, members,

Something you can actually see without being eight feet tall or in an airplane.  LOL

Hahaha very true. That’s why it was a “subtle mod”....no one can see it, just wanted to bring some red element to the roof. We also live in a very hilly area where roof of vehicles are easily seen by other vehicles, and my wife works downtown where hi-rise buildings look down on vehicles all day.

For what its worth, you can take the front bumper off in less than 20mins of ratcheting

Nice! Also good knowledge. I’m sure for you it’s easy at this point; I’ve heard here (and the FB group) that you’ve taken it off a ton of times. I actually got the emblem off tonight with Mikulas method and a flexible ratchet extension fed through one of the honeycomb holes in the grill; worked like a champ. Got it disassembled and ready to paint this week.

Now it’s the rear emblem that’s giving me a problem. There’s definitely more than just adhesive holding on the rear emblem of my ‘19. I saw a video of a guy removing it with a trim removal tool and there are two pop clips on back in addition to the adhesive,

I'm bringing this one back up, because after messing around with some intake options, i got side tracked and started messing with the front emblem.

It CAN be removed without taking the whole bumper off. but you must be careful, and its definitely tight. took about 20 minutes to get the 2 nuts off the back of the emblem, but it can be done. With the hood open, you have to take the top plastic piece off the top of the grill (just a bunch of push pins) and then remove the 6 bolts from the top of the grill. this will allow you to pry the grill forward enough to get a hand, a ratchet and a 10mm deep socket, and it will come off, albeit 2 or 3 clicks of the ratchet at a time. I had one hand slipped in from the top, and one in between the grill so I didn't lose any hardware in the process.

problem is, I don't have an emblem to replace the one I just took off. I was just so thrilled that I didn't have to take the bumper off that I kept going. Dummy...

This is amazing information; I will be trying this tomorrow.

  8. So the wife needed a new car and wanted an SUV. Luckily I found a slightly used (13k miles) 2019 Edge ST for a good price; we picked it up this Saturday 04/18. The modding has already begun. I painted the rear “EDGE” emblem black today, doing “FORD”badges soon (if you know a better way to get front off, let me know please lol), “ST” center caps on the way, calipers getting painted red this weekend, and so much more to come lol. Glad to have found this community,.
