happens to mine every time i need the AWD, 2 trips to the dealer and $300 bucks later they say nothing wrong

Thank you WWWPerfA_ZN0W that is exactly what I was looking for, haven't been able to find any detailed explanation of how it works other than it does it LOL

It is a 2017 edge SEL with under 55,000 km tires have less than 3,000 km on them

Just tried it again on flat hardpacked snow, 4 seconds on the throttle only front tires spinning followed by a message on the dash " AWD temporarily disabled" which according to the manual means its over heated. WTF

Good day, we just had an 18' dump of snow and backing out of my parking stall my AWD drive disabled within 15 seconds, I hadn't even finished backing up. Car was warmed up so I don't think that was the issue. This has happen many times. Has anybody had this happen? I wasn't heavy footed either.
