That's correct - the door check similar to what's pictured in the link I posted. It's a 2007 Edge SEL AWD. I would reuse the existing door check but I believe that the studs are part of the pressed in assembly as seen in that link, and not easily removable.

I bought a used Edge and the bottom hinge has one of the studs on the door side snapped off, so it makes an annoying 'pang' sound every time you open or close the door. Recently purchased a 2007 Edge SEL and noticed today that the passenger mirror has a hole in it where someone obviously hit it. The part that's damaged is circled in the photo below, it's the black portion on the corner of the mirror, not the paint matched upper section. Does anyone know if this is replaceable without replacing the whole mirror? Hoping to avoid having to get a new one painted to match. Thanks for any assistance, I'm sure I'll have other questions as I run through this (new to me) vehicle.
