New to us 2015 Edge sport, took it to the shop after the engine performance went down and white smoke appeared from the exhaust. Ford claims a P1026 code and to replace either the PCV or Purge valve. Since the car has a 90 day warranty on it they are pushing back hard not wanting to do anything right now. The pcv is not part of the powertrain and they want $400 to diagnose and replace. I think it has more to do with the cooling system or EGR. It is true that the PCV can cause smoke and poor performance but I've never had a code with it, especially not a P1026.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, the picture shows their diagnoses.
