  1. Brain fart, thanks for the reply. Fixed
  2. I’ve looked for hours on the car, Google, and done a forum search and found no conclusive answer as to where the evap drain line is on the second Gen Edges. First Gen is all over the net, peel back the carpet by the gas pedal and it’s right there. Absolutely zero info on the second Gen though. Pretty sure mine is clogged as we’ve got a prominent sloshing sound under acceleration and turning. Anyone got any ideas? TIA.
  3. Thanks for the info, guys. Just so I can be prepared, what is the actual issue with these engines to where not even a gasket will fix it? and I domy know that I’m necessarily losing coolant, but air is definitely getting into the system somehow. I noticed the level had dropped since I burped it a few days ago, so I checked the level on a cold engine and it had dropped slightly below minimum on the overflow jug. However when I unscrewed the cap, air escaped and the level rose back up.
  4. It is indeed a 420 Cleveland engine. Didn’t know any of these issues until after we bought it of course. Also, it has lost a little coolant since I filled it up and burped it last. I’ve been doing some reading, are these engines prone to head gasket issues or something that leak coolant into a cylinder? I’ve bought many used cars before and did the same thing with this one that I’ve always done, checked the car fax beforehand which was clean, only two owners and lots of service records. Test drove just fine too of course, just really hoping this doesn’t turn into a major issue. Monday will be two weeks that we’ve had the car. Going to call the dealership on Monday and see what we can figure out.
  5. Thanks a bunch for the reply. I’ll probably go ahead and replace all four coils anyway because why not at 70K, then if the issue persists we’ll go from there
  6. Just bought the car a week or two ago and had a couple small issues, the waterfall sound at startup and after a couple days’ driving it threw a P0301 misfire code on cylinder 1. Symptom was a rough shuddery idle the first ten seconds or so on a cold start then ran fine the rest of the time. Pulled the plugs and replaced with NGK Ruthenium’s, old plugs were pretty gross. Also cylinder one plug (far left facing the engine) was different than the others as you can see in the pic so someone saw the code before and just threw a single plug at it, no idea why you’d do that. Anyway installed the new plugs and cleared the code, also burped the coolant system and haven’t had the waterfall sound since. Car ran way better for a week or so then the same code came back so I’m thinking coil packs next, unless someone has anything else to try before I go to that. Thanks for any and all help!
  7. Just bought our 17 Edge Titanium AWD 2.0T a week or so ago and loving it so far, just having two small issues. Check engine light came on and went off a couple times now after a rough idle on a cold start, pulled the code and it’s P0301 cylinder 1 misfire. Car drives totally fine after the rough idle clears up, and seems to only be on cold starts lasting maybe 10 seconds or so then the idle sorts itself out and we’re good. I’ve done some looking around and I’m thinking I’ll start with plugs, then coil packs if the issue persists. I’ll update later on this one. Also another weird thing that we’re seeing that just seems to be a thing across a lot of ford models is the waterfall sound. We’ve got the waterfall sound from the dash sometimes on startup and sometimes at stoplights and such, which from my research seems to be just a design thing possibly with the heater core with some fords, wondering if anyone here knew any more about this. Another related issue is the sloshing sound upon acceleration and turning, which from my googling seems to possibly be a clogged evap drain hose. Was going to try to tackle this tomorrow by pulling the hose and shooting some air in there to see if it’s clogged like I saw in some videos I found, but every video I’ve found with this exact issue is for a first Gen and our layout seems to be a little different for this. Wondering if anyone could shed some light on differences for this between first and second Gen. Thanks for any and all help guys!
