I wonder if anyone has ever added a sub amp and woofer to a 2021 Ford Edge SEL? If so, where is a good place to pick up a signal to drive the amp? Crutchfield doesn't have a clue.

Others who have analyzed the Ford PTU issue say the real problem is the proximity of the PTU to high heat producing devices like the CAT and other parts. This heat "cooks" the oil and eventually turns it into a lump of carbon, destroying the bearings and then the gears. I had the PTU fluid changed at 35K miles in my 2018 Taurus, and it was timely according the technician who did the change. Interestingly I went to my dealer's service dept and asked for the service to be done and was discouraged from doing so, not necessary I was told.

I went to a local Farm and Auto supply store (Princess Auto) and bought a set of FIAMM horns for 19.95 each (Canadian). Turns out that is the same brand that was in my new Edge. I mounted the new horns using the existing bracket and found that the connector on the Edge horn could be made to fit on either of the new horns, which I did and plastic welded the connector to the new horn. Now it just plugs in like the stock horn. The new horns are supposed to produce 133 db. They are nice and loud now, sound great.

How to run power cable through firewall

Behind the battery there is an extra unused port (like a rubber nipple) that could be used to run a power wire for a sub amp, but how in the heck would I snip it off? It's way back under the windshield. Some kind of long handle front cutters? Has any one attempted this? My vehicle is a 2021 Edge SEL.
