It runs fine, I just want to know what kind of liquid it is and what could've caused it to be seemingly splashed all over the engine?

Are there any reports of this affecting Edges from 2019 and onward even if unacknowledged by this TSB?

2017 Edge 2.0L ecoboost. Is it normal to have those big soot marks coming from the muffler weep holes? The left weep hole seems blown off too... Is that something to be concerned about? If so what should I do about it?

I'm interested in this '16 Edge SEL, everything about it looks good but some rust under the frame (and at the base of the hood latch but unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of this) is giving me pause. I don't know much about cars so I don't know if this is normal or not given the year. I took it to a mechanic and according to him it's all surface level rust that can be treated/stopped with periodic fluid oil. He said it was still a buy from him but I'm not sure, it gave me serious pause. Anyway, I'm attaching some pictures in order to get a few more opinions from others. I like the 16 Edge but there are not that many good choices in my area unfortunately (the used car market sucks here) hence why I haven't outright discarded this one.
