  1. Sirius still hasn't stopped my service. My 6 month free subscription was suppose to end at the end of November. It's now 7 months, and still receiving Sirius.

I have had my Edge for one year now and they never cut mine off after the six months free trial. I wish Ford had not given them my phone number, because for several months they were calling me with their annoying and harassing calls day and night and even on Sundays. I would never answer, so they gave up, but never cut me off.

  2. I was wondering who has the most miles on their Edge?

I am concerned about the longevity of these vehicles.

Has this motor been around for awhile in other vehicles?

I have less than 1,000 miles on my 08 Limited and I have had it for 9 months. It will fall apart from lack of use, LOL!

  3. When my local dealer delivered my Edge, he. all puffed up proud, proclaimed "and you'll NEVER need to wax this car because of the special finish..."

Me (mentally): "Yeah, right, and that bridge for sale??"

What does the brain trust think? Any truth to this claim?

Maybe he plans to wax it for you, for life.

  4. There isn't anything hard about manually locking the doors, I do it all of the time. Have you ever manually locked your Edge's doors with the key in the ignition? They don't stay locked!

What's so hard about manually locking the doors? This is actually the first car I have had that auto locks them at 12mph.

Do you people really think if someone really wants to rob you that a locked car door will really matter? It's not too hard to break through a car door glass with anything of significant weight. What are you going to do if they have a gun?

  5. I don't like the way the Edge locks after you are driving away either. What is the point in having them lock after you drive off? I work in a bad area of Washington, D.C. In the parking garage that I park in, someone could open the door before I drive away, so I understand Davy's concern for his wife. My 98 Explorer locks as soon as I take my foot off of the brake. My 82 Thunderbird locks as soon as I put it in gear. It is much harder for someone to run to your car at 10 m.p.h., pull the door open and rob you, than it is when you first start the car. I wonder what brilliant mind at Ford made the decision to make it that way.

    Davy,

I also have an Edge (plus an Expidition, an Explorer and a Freestyle) and it acts like my other Fords. That is, it locks the doors once you reach 15 miles per hour. I don't know if that's adjustable by the dealer. I have been in other cars that lock when you put the transmission in drive but Ford has chosen to implement door locks differently.

  6. Hi everyone just thought I would stop by and check out the place. As the description says Wife and I just bought an Ice Blue Metalic 2008 edge limited and man what a wonderfull car/truck (lol still not sure what to call it)

We took it on a 1000 mile road trip over Memorial day weekend up the California coast and it ran teriffic. We are learning how to use the Sync system and the voice Nav system.

Plans are matching window tint for the front driver and passenger windpws and black monogramed floor mats ASAP so we don't destroy the camel ones.

Hope to get to know a few of you out there and hope you all have a great day.

    Dan

I have the camel interior also. I bought the black fitted mats from the dealer for $70, they look great and are thicker than the ones that came with the car. It took one month to get them, they were on back order. Next thing is to get my front windows tinted to match also. The first thing I did was the bug/stone deflector on the front to protect from chips. I bought running boards to put on it, haven't had time to put them on yet. I didn't want them, but I transport a handicapped person around and she can't get in without them. Not sure she will be able to get in with them either. I will soon find out.

  7. Brought my new Edge Sport home two weeks ago. So far, I love it. It is a new experience for me as I have bought a new F150 every year for the past 10 years. This year, went to drive a new F150 and saw the Sport and decided to test drive it. Really liked it and decided it was time to try something else. it is a sport blue with everything except NAV. I will keep everyone posted on how I like it after a couple months.

Congrats! I wish you the best with it. The Sport is a great looking car. I like the black trim in the tail lights, I am going to buy a set to put in my Edge. I think it will look really good with the White Sand Tricoat.

  8. We are a total Ford Family and my husband has taught me well. We park in the back 40 anywhere we go, this benefits us in two ways; no dings in the car and we get the needed excercise.

I do that as much as possible, unfortunately where I work parking spaces aren't plentiful. I try to be very careful who I park near, but some idiots just don't care. We are a Ford family too. I have a 87 Mustang LX 5.0 for sale and a 82 Thunderbird Heritage for sale, both are garage kept and in excelent condition, both have under 100,000 miles on them. My 98 Explorer is my daily driver and it has over 187,000 miles on it. I will keep fixing anything that goes wrong with it and celebrate every high mileage milestone.

  9. I love my Edge too. I wanted one since they first hit the market. I bought an 08 Limited 3 months ago and have only put 530 miles on it. 300 of which I put on it last weekend when I went on a trip. I love it so much that I won't drive it anywhere in fear of it getting dinged by idiots in parking lots. It just sits in my garage for weeks at a time. I will drive it more after I order the bodyside molding. I have learned a lot on this forum, like where to buy painted molding to match the color of my car.

  10. Hi everyone, I just joined today and read a lot of interesting stuff so far. I bought my new 08 Edge Limited almost two weeks ago and it has been sitting in my driveway waiting for nice weather. I have an Explorer to drive in bad weather, although I want to see how the Edge does in snow, I don't want the salt all over it, so I will wait for nice weather.
