  1. Sound deadening material i put the rear under the spare tire helped a whole bunch..but I think its the Pirelli tires that make it so loud. Our car was a lease return when we bought it, with just 20,003 miles on it. Beautiful condition and it had the pirelli low profile tires. Handles great, but very loud road noise. I'm not a hater....just find the driving position not great for someone 6 foot four. And if I could have, i would have already replaced the factory radio which is terrible. But overall a trouble free vehicle. I need to change the spark plugs out which i'm dreading, since so much needs to be pulled just to get at the rear bank.
  2. thank you to all who responded..went back in and yes started eliminating connectors that weren't part of the problem. It turned out to be (surprise) the license plate lighting wiring. Now this wiring isnt particlarly small gage but apparently it was nicked during my camera change, I insulated the wires, and changed the fuse, and boom..i've got taillights again. and thanks for all the circuit diagrams, they will come in handy. Is there a spot here on th eforum where all the circuit diagrams are available? Any way many thanks.....
  3. ok..i guess i'll go back in and check my work/// not sure what i could have done but will check the wires there
  4. Ok...tail lights blow 10 amp fuse. I've replaced all the rear bulbs, cleaned the sockets and bulb greased> I replaced the main headlight switch. No joy. There has been no damage to the vehicle. All Brake lights work, turn signals work, just no tail lights and when i replace the fuse, the fuse blows immediately when i turn on the lights.. Front park lights work normally. What am I missing. I suspect there's a relay that has gone bad but there doesn't seem to be one specifically for the tail lights. I did replace the rear camera, which works normally. There are two connectors on the liftgate, one for the rear stop/brake light and one for the camera. Nothing there seems related to the tail lights. But that's the only work on the car i did recently. 5. My wife's car is a 2013 Ford Edge. I'm not a huge fan due to really dumb dash radio controls and lack of really good electronics compared to our old 2006 HHR. I'm also 6 foot 4 and the driving position is marginal for a tall person. I prefer my 1999 F-150 that has 215,000 miles. This car is really loud, lots of road noise and even though I've installed sound deadening, its one of the noisiest cars I've ever owned. However it runs good and over 86,000 miles no major problem except driver side A/C blend door motor which i replaced myself. I also changed the rear hubs thinking they were already worn out. The noise never got better. Pirelli tires are loud!!
