Within the last 2 months our 2016 Ford Edge SEL(3.5L V6, 140K miles), has had 2 instances where it appears to briefly go into limp mode - no power and max 35 mph. Both times after restart it acted normally. My $95 Tech diag is below which isn't anything more than my cheap (Autozone) scan tool told me.
I'm unsure of my realistic options other than to drive it until it acts up so I have a few questions if you would please. It's my wife's car and I don't want her stranded somewhere. Diagrams of the trans, schematics and the like would be also appreciated.
I was told it will not damage the transmission if we continue to drive this. Agree? Fluid was check and was acceptable wear/color. Fluid level ok.
Is there a low(er) cost scan tool (FORScan?)/program & ODB link cable that I can run to monitor the output of this sensor and determine if it's providing acceptable/correct data? I don't want to just throw 1/3 the price of a new tranny at it so I don't mind spending a few bucks for a decent scan tool.
Is 5 hrs. the book job on this? Where is the switch located? I was told in the pan and also under the air box
Anything else you can gather from the notes below would be appreciated.
