  1. UPDATE - codes have been whittled down to 2. B2293 and B2293-E0. I made an appointment for 09.13 to have someone with better knowledge than me check where the low resistance may be. I ohm'd the clockspring and everything was within specifications so it has to be further in the dash or with the control module. I'll update again when I hopefully get some diagnostic relief.
  2. My apologies...I guess you have to log in to see any responses. EDST777 - not the whole media system. I went to Best Buy and inquired about a head end unit that would fit and what was needed to upgrade the factory unit with a rear view camera. The installation of the head end unit was free and the back up camera about $140-150USD. It sounds good, it just never had steering wheel controls for audio so everything is done from the touch screen and volume knob. As far as making or placing an image on, that is more than what I know. DILLARD000 - I failed to mention that I did have the PTU gearoil changed and the transmission oil. I didn't do the rear axle differential. I've put about 3,500 miles since the fluid changes and plan on doing it again in another 3,500 miles for good measure. I've seen the videos on drilling and tapping the PTU case, but trying to avoid that with frequent changes. The water pump has me nervous and why I kept away from this engine design for so long, but the price of this ride in the condition it was in was too good to pass up. One thing that I found funny was a few weeks ago I ran into the clogged drain from the condensation reservoir (A/C system) and had the fan start sloshing with the water during turns. After the air spritz up the drain tube, it cleared and the amount of water that came out was astounding. Finally the last thing to work on is this airbag light.
  3. Hi all, I posted an intro and had to dive into what's been ailing my Edge. I recently picked it up (4 months ago) and it has always had an airbag light. I have a basic but decent OBD reader and it gave me several codes. I Googled them and was steered to the clock spring as a possibility and/or the occupant classification sensor under the passenger seat. Changing out both didn't help. Some posts in this forum started off solid with similar issues, but were never followed up by the OP. The codes I have are B2290, B2290-60, B2290-E0, B2293, and B2293-E0. My scanner will not clear them. Airbag light goes out for ~5 sec. after start up, but then comes back on. The wires under the seats look intact. No visual breaks or loose connections. I did have an airbag recall when the vehicle was inspected and I went in to a local dealership to have it performed in hopes it would be fixed...nope. So I'm hoping someone knows what it could be and if it is something a DIYer can do or if it has to go into the dealership and have something programmed/reprogrammed. It doesn't look like it's been in an accident. This is definitely more than just wiggling wires, reseating connectors, pulling the negative cable for 1 min. or 30 min. or overnight. I'm looking more for an answer like the Autel MaxiSys can clear it or it can only be done by FORSCAN or I had the same issue and replacing the sensors under the front bumper cleared it. As I understand it, the airbags will not deploy with the airbag light on which stinks. Many thanks!
  4. Good day kind people...new owner of a Ford vehicle and it happens to be an AWD Edge SE with 172K. I picked it up at auction and have had "fun" fixing it up. Body is solid and little to no rust which is something I always shoot for. The mechanical stuff doesn't scare me. Done to date: Replaced rear wheel bearings Valve cover gaskets with plugs and PCV valve Replaced one (1) fuel injector (cyl. #5) Front fan assembly Front drivers seat cushion Rear folding seat - the smaller one Front control arms - L & R Installed a new BT radio with back up camera I look forward to finding out a couple of things that have escaped me for the time being, however I look forward to some feed back and insight. TIA from Western NY
