My Ford Edge completely loses power after a few hours on the road. This most commonly happens when I'm on cruise control and the transmission downshifts for a hill or an overpass. At times the transmission will downshift two gears and the engine completely loses power. If I can get the car back into the higher gear, I can drive without cruise control keeping the engine RPM's down. It looks like the solenoid is a real bear to change. On one trip, I did get a code P1016 $07E8 Ford. Any other ideas?
